The role of a Guest Advocate can provide you with the   ski l ls and experience of :    Communicating   and interact ing   with guests to build   a   welcoming   guest experience   Blending   problem solving and decision making to positively   impact   the guest experience and resolve guest concerns     A dapt ing   to different guest interactions and situations   P romoting and engaging around   various benefits ,   offerings   and services    As   a   Guest   Advocate,   no two days   are ever the same, but a typical day will   most likely include   the following responsibilities:   Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments:   Greet:   10ft: be friendly – smile, make eye contact, or wave   4ft: greet the guest, smile and   initiate   a warm, helpful interaction   Help guests find what they need and/or resolve issues to ensure a smooth, easy shopping experience   End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you   Actively support team efforts and   assist   peers in other areas while   maintaining   a positive and respectful attitude   Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience   Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard    M ake the guest aware of current promos ,   store   activities   and events .   Understand and show guests how to use the features and offerings within the Target   App   including Wallet.   Know and speak   to   the benefits of Target Loyalty programs with every guest and   assist   with application ,   sign-up , and signing in   as needed .   S can and bag all guest items efficiently,   accurately   and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices .   Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while   maintaining   guest service and accuracy .   Be familiar with   Order Pick-Up, Drive Up and   online   ordering ,   and know how to direct the guest to enroll, activate and use the se features .   Attempt every return   or exchange   and follow register prompts ;   partner   with immediate   l eaders as needed to help solve   issues   for the guest   while following Target ’ s policies and procedures .     Maintain a clean, clutter free work area   by   gathering   unpurchased   items, baskets, and hangers   for removal .   Stock supplies during store   open   hours while being available   for the guest .   Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct,   safety   and compliance .   Work in a safe manner   at all times ;   comply with   all safety policies ,   best practices , and training; report hazards and correct where possible.    Support guest services such as order pick up (OPU), Drive-up (DU) Orders,   DU   Returns and   maintain   a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local   adult beverage   laws.   All other duties   based   on business needs .   WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR   This m ay   be the right job for you if:   You enjoy interacting and helping others - including guests that   shop   our store and fellow team members you work with .     You thrive in a fast-moving, highly   active   and physically demanding role, where teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem solving are key to success.    You are open to   working   a flexible work schedule with varying hours,   days   or shifts (including nights, weekends,   holidays   and other peak shopping times).   The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you ever y thing you need to know to be a   Guest   Advocate.   But ,   there are a few   skills   you   should have from the get-go:   Communicating effectively, including using positive language and attentive to   guests   needs   Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members   Attention to detail   while prioritizing   tasks    Willing to educate guests and   engage around   products and services   Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and   operate   handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed   Work both independently and with a team   Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and   accomplish   multiple tasks within established   timeframes   Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot   We are an awesome place to work and care about our teams, so we want to make sure we are clear on a few more basics that we expect:     Accurately handle   checkout operations , transactions ,   and   support cash office operations as needed .   Scan,   handle   and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including   frequently   lifting or moving   product up to 10 pound s   and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 4 4   pounds  without   additional   assistance from others.   Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights,   weekends   and
