The   Saint Alphonsus Medical Group ( SAMG )   Triage Nursing   Team is now hiring for a n   organized   and   adaptable   Medical Assistant!   This position will   support clinics across the health system with patient outreach.    Position Summary & Highlights :   This MA role will be primarily contacting patients over the phone to   assist   with   clinic outreach related to hypertension (HTN) and colorectal cancer (CRC) screenings, and other Trinity Health Measures. These are continuous initiatives critical to quality performance and patient outcomes.   This position will work   fully   in-person at our Shared Services Building in Boise. See Minimum Requirements below for   details.* **   The position requires self-management, critical thinking skills, ability to   pull   and review reports,   ability t o collaborate with providers, care   team   , and   Central Triage Nursing team , and willingness to be flexible day to day.   The Saint Alphonsus Medical Group is a multi-specialty, physician-led organization focused on serving the needs of over   800,000 people   in Idaho,   Oregon   and northern Nevada.   If you want to feel like your work   impacts   the daily lives of patients in our local community, this is the position for you!     What You Will Do :   Patients will be   identified   through the centralized triage nurs ing   team   and the MA   will   then have a telephone encounter with patient s to discuss screenings and needed care . T hen   the MA will   collaborate with the primary care provider,   clinic care team, and central triage nursing team   on   next   steps.    This position   may   also   assist   with   in-basket support for SAMG Primary Care,   including   medication   prior   authorization s, and other related orders.    On occasion, y ou may also   work at   clinics  performing direct patient care   to   help fill in when needed.    An ideal candidate   will  have: Proficiency in EPIC and Excel , being able to pull reports and   interpret the information.    Previous   MA experience in a primary care/family practice   clinic is preferred, but not required. Enjoy a care team support role, troubleshooting, working in a team and independently, and   are   passionate about helping to provide the best care for our patients .   Work Schedule :   Mondays - Fridays, around the hours of 8:00am   – 4:30 pm. MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) American Medical Technologists (RMA) National Healthcareer Association (CCMA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA) National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA) American Medical Certification Association (CMAC) National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA) New Graduates : 1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification. Medical Assistant with Experience : 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above. Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire . *Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details. EMT and CNA certifications will not count towards an MA certification.
