This role is responsible for implementing designs, standards, and delivering enterprise grade audiovisual and collaboration environments across Visa’s global offices, including conference rooms, collaboration spaces, e vent spaces, and specialty environments.
As a Staff AV and UC Engineer you will sit at the intersection of AV engineering, unified communications, networked systems, and enterprise governance. You will act as a technical authority for AV build standards, work closely with construction and workplace partners, and ensure that all deployed solutions are intuitive for users, supportable for operations, and aligned with Visa’s security and reliability requirements.
The ideal candidate has experience designing and delivering enterprise‑scale AV and UC solutions—including Microsoft Teams Rooms and AV‑over‑IP architectures—while providing technical leadership and governance across AV/UC vendors and integrators.
The Work itself:
Lead the implementation and commissioning of standard and complex AV conferencing spaces, including focus rooms, huddle rooms, medium and large conference rooms, town halls, auditoriums, and specialty environments.
Enable AI‑assisted collaboration experiences through AV hardware standards and identify ing agentic automation opportunities that improve deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management of AV and UC environments.
Leverage AI enabled tools and analytics (e.g., event data, device telemetry, and monitoring insights) to inform design decisions, identify systemic issues, and improve the reliability and performance of AV and UC environments at scale.
Apply a product mindset, partnering with Product, Workplace, and Operations teams to evolve room design and collaboration experiences using usage data, user feedback, and lifecycle insights.
Partner closely with AV Operations and Support teams to analyze repeat incidents and systemic issues, using feedback loops and lifecycle data to improve standards, drive corrective design changes, and reduce long‑term support effort.
Serve as a subject matter expert for Microsoft Teams Rooms (Windows) , including compute, touch controllers, schedulers, cameras, microphones, and BYOD/USB‑C workflows.
Define, implement, and maintain global AV standards, room typologies, reference designs, and bill‑of‑materials (BOM) guidance across new builds, renovations, and modernization programs.
Review and approve AV schematics, elevations, network diagrams, and design documentation produced by integrators and design partners.
Make informed engineering decisions on display sizing, camera placement, microphone strategies (ceiling vs table), DSP architecture, lighting integration, and room ergonomics.
Design and validate AV‑over‑IP network architectures, including AV LAN segmentation, switch topology, redundancy, and monitoring considerations.
Partner with Real Estate, Construction, Architects, General Contractors, and Low‑Voltage teams to ensure AV requirements are incorporated early and delivered accurately.
Govern AV integrators and vendors, ensuring adherence to enterprise standards, quality expectations, schedules, and acceptance criteria.
Lead acceptance testing, commissioning, and operational handoff, ensuring solutions are production‑ready and supportable by AV Operations and onsite support teams.
Collaborate across Security, Network Engineering, Infrastructure, and Collaboration platforms to ensure compliant, reliable solutions.
Maintain platform documentation, operational playbooks, FAQs, and training materials to support scale and consistency.
Balance user experience, operational simplicity, security, cost, and schedule risk in all design and delivery decisions.
Essential Capabilities:
AI‑first mindset, leveraging AI‑enabled capabilities to improve design decisions, operational efficiency, lifecycle management, and user experience across AV and collaboration platforms.
Strong engineering mindset with the ability to translate business and workplace needs into scalable AV and UC solutions.
Deep working knowledge of Microsoft Teams Rooms ecosystems, conferencing peripherals, and enterprise collaboration workflows.
Hands on experience with DSP platforms (e.g., QSYS), ceiling microphone arrays, wireless microphone systems, and professional audio design.
Experience designing and integrating lighting and control systems for AV environments, ensuring lighting support
