Software Development Manager, Shopping Core Foundations - BuyForMe

This role sits at the intersection of Agentic AI, LLMs, and large-scale distributed systems. As a Software Development Manager, you will work closely with product mgmt, science and engineering teams to plan and launch systems and shopping partner experiences. As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring your team successfully delivers on design, development, testing, and the operations of systems your team owns. You should have an established track record of launching customer-facing experiences, deep technical ability, and excellent project management and communication skills. This role requires working closely with product management and UX to define strategy and requirements, and leading a development team from design through delivery and subsequent operation. This position will also require regular communication with senior management on status, risks, and strategy. The ideal candidate is deeply technical, resourceful, customer-focused and team oriented, with clear communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders. You can successfully influence partner teams and influence architecture decisions that impact multiple businesses. You have a proven track record of taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. About the team The Buy For Me purchasing team owns the mission of completing customer purchases on off-amazon sites through both deterministic protocols and agentic methods. This role owns the backend services to enable customer experiences and protocol-based integration (e.g. ACP, UCP) with off-amazon partner sites.
