We work together to enhance peoples' lives through our products and presence in the communities in which we operate.​ JOB SUMARY   Operates forklift to move, load, and unload material   and pallets   throughout the facility .   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   Comply with   Westlake   Safety Policies     Regular attendance,   timeliness,   and scheduling flexibility   Operate forklift within the safety   guidelines.   Unload incoming material   and pallets   by placing it in the proper   area.   Regulate shipping documents   accordingly.   Verify counts and   maintain   load   sheets.   Understand quality standards, equipment, and manufacturing   processes.   KNOWLEDGE,   SKILLS,   AND ABILITIES    Ability to   use simp le math and read tape measure   accurately.   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE   High school diploma or general education degree (GED)   preferred.   Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment   preferred.   Prior forklift experience   preferred.   Forklift certification   ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORK   ENVIRONMENT   The employee should   possess   the ability to:   Prolong   sitting.     Complete repetitive movements such as typing .     Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that   maybe   uncomfortable .   Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing,   vision,   and hardhat protection) when in plant .   Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds .   Ability to move or traverse about the facilitie s.   Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or   ladders.     Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental   condition .   This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) incumbent in this position .    Employee(s) will   be required   to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties requested by any person authorized to give instructions or assignments.   A review of this position has excluded the marginal functions of the position that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties .    All duties and responsibilities are essential   job   functions and requirements and are subject to   possible modification   to   reasonably accommodate   individuals with disabilities .    To perform this job successfully, the   incumbents(s)   will   possess   the skills, aptitudes, and abilities to perform each duty proficiently .    Some requirements may exclude individuals who pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health or safety of themselves or others .    The requirements listed in this document are the minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and abilities .     This document does not create an employment contract, implied or otherwise, other than an “at will” relationship.   Westlake is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
