Together with families and communities, we create joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare students with the skills and confidence to pursue the paths they choose – college, career, and beyond – so they can lead fulfilling lives and build a more just world.  In the 2026-2027 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating 3,000+ students, kindergarten through twelfth grade, in the North and Westsides of Jacksonville, Florida: KIPP Impact Academy : Kindergarten – 8th grade KIPP VOICE Academy : Kindergarten – 8th grade KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy : Kindergarten – 8th grade KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 12th grade For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school. K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm  K-8 Students : 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm  High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm,  High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm.  Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.  To support these schools, we will employ approximately almost 300 full-time staff members. POSITION OVERVIEW KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks Learning Specialists (LS) for the 2026-27 school year. The LS focuses on ensuring that KIPP Jacksonville is in compliance with all Individual Education Plans (IEPs), teaching small groups of students, providing support facilitation in general education settings, and working with families around the special education process. The LS will work typically with multiple grade levels and will help facilitate the RtI process with staff. The LS will facilitate regular meetings around student IEPs and will work directly with students to ensure their IEP goals are met. All Learning Specialists are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing our curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with our families, and other duties as assigned.  Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their School Principal. Depending on the grade levels the LS works with, the model and schedule can vary slightly. Service Delivery & Instructional Support At the high school level, Learning Specialists support students through multiple service models based on student needs and caseload assignments: Push-In Support: Co-teach a general education classroom to provide accommodations, differentiation, and academic support aligned to IEP goals. Pull-Out Support: Provide small-group instruction in a resource setting for targeted intervention and skill development. Learning Strategies Course: Teach a scheduled class focused on IEP goal progress, academic skills, and postsecondary readiness. Learning Specialists may serve in one or a combination of these roles. In our current year of paying out millage stipends, certified New-to-KIPP instructional staff received a historical average of $11,000 with the addition of receiving TSIA stipends. There are other opportunities to earn money at KIPP Jax in the form of additional stipends. This role will only be eligible for instructional stipends if they have their FLDOE certification. ***This offering is subject to change each school year. Terms w
