Founding Engineer: Agentic OS (YC-backed)

ABOUT THE ROLE We're building an agentic operating system for the Enterprise and have achieved product-market fit with thousands of agents deployed across scale-up startups and enterprise companies. We're looking for someone who operates at CTO-level—someone who can take a vague problem, scope it, build it end-to-end, and ship something that provides real value. This is a backend-heavy, AI-native role where you'll need to go full stack when required. No hand-holding. No waiting for specs. You need to be a full-stack engineer, an AI engineer, and a product engineer in one person. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own large parts of the product end-to-end, from user insight to production - Build and improve agentic systems to make them more accurate, reliable, and powerful - Work at the frontier of AI engineering—context engineering, tool use, agent architectures - Talk to users, understand their pain points, and scope features that solve real problems - Push AI-first development practices and scale yourself through automation - Review code quickly while maintaining high standards across the codebase WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - A 100x engineer: razor sharp, able to solve difficult problems fast - Deep product sense—you build for users, not for code's sake - Strong Go backend experience with clean, maintainable code practices - Experience building AI products, ideally agentic systems or AI coding tools - Fascination with new coding paradigms (Claude Code, Cursor, coding agents) - Ability to scale yourself to an extreme degree through automation - Great code taste and ability to review PRs at speed without sacrificing quality - Versatility: backend-heavy but not allergic to frontend (Vite/Typescript) - Thrive in ambiguity—you don't need a PM to tell you what to build - Track record of building something from scratch (startup, side project, shipped feature) - Plus factors: AI research background, experience at an AI coding startup, former founder experience COMPENSATION & DETAILS - Generous equity and compensation reflecting the outsized impact of this role - Unlimited AI budget—we practice what we preach - Work alongside a brilliant design engineer and a CTO cofounder who will push your growth - A founding seat at the table where you'll shape the product and company direction LOCATION Not specified in original posting
