At Apex, you don’t just join a company, you help shape what comes next. Apex is hiring a Staff Environmental Scientist I or Environmental Engineer I to be based in Vancouver, WA. At Apex, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated group of talented engineers, scientists, and multi-discipline professionals on projects that vary widely in size and complexity- each making a meaningful impact in the communities we serve. This role offers significant room for professional growth. Your Responsibilities as a Staff Environmental Scientist: Field collection of environmental samples (air, water, stormwater, wastewater, soil)  Routine regulatory reporting related to stormwater, wastewater, solid/hazardous waste, and air permit compliance  Preparing environmental management plans related to stormwater pollution prevention, spill prevention, and solid waste operations  Inspection and auditing for environmental compliance  Problem solving through selection and implementation of pollution prevention Best Management Practices for discharge permit compliance  Support a variety of environmental engineering tasks for remedial system design and construction  Assist with the evaluation and permitting of environmental projects  Presentation of environmental topics to employees, clients, and contractors  Travel to project sites within Washington and Oregon required  Represent Apex in a safe and professional manner both internally and externally   What we're looking for: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field   Master's degree a plus  Experience collecting field samples of soil, groundwater, surface water, stormwater, wastewater, and air using standard environmental protocols  Experience preparing regulatory reports and permit-related documentation  Why you'll love working with us: Medical, dental and vision plan options.
