About the Team Our Advertising & Promotions team operates at the intersection of e-commerce and advertising, surfacing and monetizing relevant content that benefits our core audiences.  We provide digital solutions to help advertisers reach DoorDash audiences.  The Ads Platform Strategy & Operations team is responsible for: 1) Driving sales and campaign lifecycle efficiency via automation and process optimization, 2) Building the platform foundation to help us scale, and 3) Creating simple self-serve tools for merchants to drive GMV growth. About the Role We're looking for a senior builder and operator who is passionate about working across teams to develop systems, processes, and tools that will enable our advertising business to continue scaling through a period of hypergrowth. As the Director of Ads Platform Strategy & Operations, you will own the overall vision, strategy, and execution of all tools and systems that support our advertising business — with a particular emphasis on leveraging Gen AI to revolutionize how we sell, build, and optimize campaigns. Specifically, you will:  Own the overall vision, strategy, and execution of the Ads Platform S&O roadmap, covering the full sales and campaign lifecycle — from proposal and contracting through execution, invoicing, and reporting. Champion and lead the integration of Gen AI across our ads workflows, identifying high-leverage opportunities to drive scalability across the org. Partner with Sales and merchant teams to identify gaps in existing workflows; and implement, manage, and scale sales and operations via offshore resources, automation tools, and streamlined end-to-end processes. Work closely with Product and Engineering to create and execute quarterly roadmaps focused on infrastructure, tooling, and automation. Oversee Ad Operations and manage team leads to scale operations, grow offshore resources, and improve team SLAs. Work with internal teams (Billing, Accounting, Finance, Compliance, Legal) to support scaled ways to propose, contract, execute, and invoice campaigns. Use data-driven decision-making to run and scale experiments — from new engagement models for Sales to new self-serve tools for Merchants — to drive Ads growth. Build systems to improve quality of campaign delivery and overall excellence of what we deliver for our advertisers. You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… Build: You are eager to implement efficiency, automation, and best practices — and excited to explore the best ways to leverage Gen AI that will unlock our ability to scale. Analyze: You use data-driven decision-making to design, run, and scale experiments and operational improvements that move the business forward. Operate: You want to roll up your sleeves, get to the lowest level of detail, and find the best solution in practice — not just in theory. Collaborate: You value cross-functional partnerships and will thrive working across Sales, Operations, Insights, Product, Engineering, Legal, Accounting, and more to deliver results. Strategize: You'll develop the strategy and roadmap to best serve our advertisers and internal partners through a period of rapid growth. We’re excited about you because… You have 10+ years of experience in strategy & operations, product operations, product management, business operations, management consulting, or ad operations — experience in advertising or ad tech is strongly preferred. You have a proven track record of leading highly complex, cross-functional projects and delivering results on time. You have deep expertise in process design and optimization, with a passion for operational efficiency and a willingness to get into the details. You have a strong interest in, or direct experience with, leveraging AI and other emerging technologies to solve real business problems. You don't need a playbook. You dive into difficult, ambiguous problems and develop a clear plan forward. You are a strong leader who has managed direct reports and teams, and who gets energized by building and developing talent. You thrive while wearing multiple hats and working across a variety of high-visibility projects and workstreams simultaneously. You have exceptional analytical skills (Excel / Google Sheets / SQL) and are proficient — and a fast learner — across a variety of tech platforms such as Salesforce, Snowflake, and internal tools.
