Under an agile development framework, Technical Project Managers at Epirus serve as both scrum masters and product owners, leading  research  and development efforts from  initial  planning through delivery of first-article solutions.   As a Principal Technical Project Manager, you will independently lead large, technically complex projects critical to company  objectives . You will drive alignment across engineering and operations organizations, remove execution barriers, manage project risk, and ensure successful delivery in a fast-paced development environment.   Principal TPMs serve as execution leaders within the organization, mentoring other TPMs, driving continuous improvement of project management practices, and regularly communicating project status, risks, and recommendations to  the executive  leadership  team .   In this role, you will work closely with talented engineering and operations teams, reporting to the Manager of Technical Project Management within the Engineering and Technology Organization (ETO).   Responsibilities   Act as the primary execution owner for large, technically complex projects and strategic initiatives, ensuring successful delivery against technical, schedule, and business objectives    Serve as the bridge between ETO and other department stakeholders (e.g.,  marketing , sales, operations, manufacturing, and business development), driving alignment and resolving cross-functional challenges    Create and own agile/hybrid project plans including schedules, budgets, staffing forecasts, risk registers, and other project artifacts    Lead interdisciplinary and inter-functional development efforts as the scrum master and co-product owner, ensuring teams  remain  focused on delivering the highest value to Epirus and its customers    Brief executive leadership on project status, risks, opportunities, critical decisions, and execution strategy    Mentor and develop Technical Project Managers while helping  establish  execution standards and best practices across the TPM organization    Drive continuous improvement of project management standards, tools, and best practices across the organization   Basic Qualifications   B.S. in Engineering or a related technical field AND minimum 8 years of relevant project management experience    Demonstrated success leading large-scale, cross-functional technical development projects from concept through delivery    Demonstrated ability to derive product requirements from company and customer product roadmaps    Strong background in the deployment and integration of hardware and software systems    Experienced in  providing technical leadership across  highly complex  projects involving multiple engineering disciplines    Demonstrated success mentoring and developing Technical Project Managers and other technical leaders    Proven ability to lead technical and non-technical reviews with executive and cross-functional audiences    Expertise  in developing and managing project assets such as schedules, budgets, and risk registers    Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making across multiple organizations without direct authority and effectively communicate with executive leadership and external stakeholders   Preferred Skills and Experience   Proficiency  with JIRA or other agile-enabling software platforms    Proficient in MS Project and/or Smartsheet use    Prior involvement in DoD development efforts    Demonstrated success leading multiple concurrent technical projects in a fast-paced startup environment    Superior communication and presentation skills    ITAR REQUIREMENTS   To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is: $148,600 — $176,000 USD
