About The Team The Infrastructure Team is a small, high-leverage team with a large footprint — supporting over 200 backend services running on Kubernetes clusters with 40,000+ cores, processing 70B+ requests per day at the edge, and handling 200B+ internal messages daily. We run the platforms that every engineering team at Life360 depends on, including AWS, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Jenkins, HAProxy, Cloudflare, and more. Because of our scale and team size, we lean heavily on AI to multiply what a small team can do — from autonomous incident response workflows to AI-powered infrastructure scripting and self-healing platform automation. About the Job Life360 is hiring an AI-Native Site Reliability Engineer — a senior engineer who doesn’t just use AI tools, but thinks natively in them. You’ll be central to how the Infrastructure team builds its products, develops its services and tools, and how we use AI for scaling our infrastructure in the future. As a Senior Site Reliable Engineer II - Infrastructure (AI Native), you will help build and maintain the infrastructure platforms that over 200  backend services run on.  You will be responsible for solving complex problems and designing and building scalable and resilient Platform Infrastructure to support services that run on Kubernetes clusters with over 40,000 cores, receive over 70Bn requests per day at the edge, process ~200B messages per day internally, and have databases that process over 200k queries per second. You are comfortable exposing compute, data stores, and messaging as Platform as a Service to Life360 Cloud teams. The Canada-based salary range for this position is 163,000 CAD to 194,000 CAD. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. What You’ll Do As a Senior Site Reliable Engineer II - Infrastructure (AI Native), you will be responsible for     Scaling and maintaining our infrastructure and services using AI (Claude Code) as a first-class collaborator in your daily development workflow.     Being opinionated on technical direction and strategy (and documenting those opinions for others to be able to follow).     Leading and mentoring other engineers on the team     Owning and resolving the most complex infrastructure failures — Kubernetes scheduling edge cases, networking degradation, cross-service cascading failures, and AWS platform issues that other engineers escalate     Participating in a shared on-call rotation (roughly one week every six to eight weeks on call)     Estimating schedules, breaking tasks down to reasonable 1-3 day tasks.     Driving cloud cost efficiency by identifying over-provisioned resources, rightsizing EC2 and container workloads, and building tooling to surface cost anomalies before they compound What We’re Looking For Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent practical experience Expert-level experience (5+ years) managing medium to large-scale deployments on AWS (~5000 instances, 50+ accounts), or equivalent. 3+ years of experience programming in Java, Python, or other formal programming languages Strong Kubernetes experience (3+ years) deploying and managing at scale (100s of Deployments,10k+ containers, 20k+ Cores). Understanding of container orchestration and microservices Experience with service discovery/service mesh Strong Linux administration experience, shell/bash scripting. Expert-level experience with Infrastructure as code tools: Terraform, CloudFormation; config management/provisioning tools: Ansible, Chef, etc. Strong Build / Automation / CI/CD experience. Strong Knowledge/experience with networking and load-balancer technologies. Experience with existing open-source projects such as Consul, Docker, ArgoCD, Nexus, Jenkins Experience with
