We’re hiring! Malbon is looking for a Merchandiser to join our team. This person will report to our Director of Merchandising and be focused on merchandising our growing partnerships and collaboration collections. Ideal candidates have previous merchandising and partnership management experience at a high-growth company.
Location: Malbon HQ is based in Santa Monica, CA. We are currently operating from a hybrid work schedule of 3 days a week in-office.
What You’ll Do
Merchandising - Collaborations
Manage full product lifecycle of all collaborations from kickoff through product launch
Develop policies and product strategies to achieve sales targets and sell through goals based on analysis of comparable collections, market trends, and partner requests
Setup and maintain all products in the PLM system (VibeIQ) to make sure that product data is accurate and up to date at all times
Partnership Management
At kickoff, align key details with the partner including work-back calendars, distribution, approval process, minimum order quantities, sell-off period, etc.
Participate in all design reviews to ensure that the lineplan is being executed as intended
Ensure that all calendar dates are met from design and development through sales market and buy submission
Communicate all changes including cancellations, price changes, design updates, etc.
Collect orders from partners for Malbon-made products, enter in the ERP system and ensure that it is placed and prioritized during production and shipping
Buying
Align all collaboration budgets with planning and complete ecommerce buys
Work with retail on store allocation for collaborations and buy strategy
Ensure that all collaboration styles are meeting MOQ
Collaborate with the ecommerce team on launch strategy and site merchandising
Track, analyze, and present collection sales to internal and external partners
Develop markdown and closeout strategies as needed
What You’ll Bring
5+ years of experience in merchandising, buying or licensing ( prior experience at a startup or high-growth company strongly preferred )
Bachelors degree in related field
Experience working with external partners on long-term projects
Strong analytical and financial acumen
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and partners
Proficiency in merchandising software and tools – Excel, ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus), PLM systems
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving skills and comfort in navigating ambiguity
Compensation
This is a full-time position with an expected salary range of $80K-$100K. Compensation decisions are determined using a variety of job-related factors such as skill set, geographic location, market demands, experience, and education / certifications. If we extend an offer for employment, we will consider all individual qualifications.
