About the role
Maven is hiring a Senior Staff PM to own Member & AI Experience — the surface that defines how members experience Maven from the moment they arrive. Conversational AI, homepage, community, proactive guidance, and the cross-cutting AI layer that clinical programs run on. This is the front door to Maven and the connective tissue across every program.
The right person is technically deep on LLM and agentic systems, has strong product instincts on consumer experience, and can build fast. You will work in close partnership with the clinical product team — Maternity, Fertility — to ensure the AI experience serves each program effectively. You will report directly to the SVP of Product.
Maven's culture is changing. We are resetting around speed, data-driven iteration, and deep member obsession. This hire is expected to lead that reset on the member experience surface.
What you will own
The member experience surface: conversational AI, homepage, community, and the non-clinical touchpoints that define how members engage with Maven day-to-day
The AI and conversational experience layer: how Maven guides members proactively, responds to their questions, and navigates them to the right care at the right moment
The agentic product architecture for member-facing experiences: when Maven leads, when it responds, what it says, and how it escalates to a clinical team or provider
An eval-driven development workflow: quality metrics for AI outputs, instrumented and iterated at high velocity
Community — own the roadmap and drive engagement on an existing surface with real member activity
A member-centric view of engagement data across the full experience — where members activate, where they drop, where AI is moving the needle and where it is not
Close partnership with clinical product (Maternity, Fertility) to ensure the AI experience is coherent and effective across programs
What we are looking for
7+ years in product, with direct experience building consumer-facing products and conversational AI or agentic systems in production
Deep technical fluency: prompt engineering, eval frameworks, RAG, agent orchestration — well enough to spec and ship, not just review
Strong consumer product instincts — you understand what makes a member experience feel coherent, trustworthy, and worth returning to
Strong data skills: engagement instrumentation, AI quality metrics, communicating findings across clinical, engineering, and growth
Experience owning community or social surfaces is a plus — you understand how to build for a population, not just an individual session
Clinical empathy — you understand the stakes of AI-generated health guidance and build with appropriate rigor
0-to-1 shipping at high velocity: fast experiments, fast learning, no design paralysis
High ownership: several of these surfaces are not fully defined. You will define them and you will be accountable for the outcomes
What we will not hire for
PMs who have "worked on AI" but cannot describe their eval framework
PMs who prototype but do not ship
PMs who treat community as a content problem rather than a product problem
PMs who treat agentic as a trend rather than a development methodology
PMs who cannot hold both consumer experience quality and clinical accuracy simultaneously
What success looks like in 90 days
Member & AI experience surface definition complete, with clear boundaries against clinical product team
First agentic member experience experiment in market within 45 days
Eval framework for AI output quality established within 60 days
Community roadmap defined and first improvement shipped
Homepage iteration in flight with clear metric ownership
Partnership model with clinical product team operating — shared understanding of where AI experience ends and clinical product begins
The base salary range for this role is 245,000-340,000 per year. You will also be entitled to receive equity and benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on qualifications, experience, and skillset.
