About Neura: Neura Health is a nationwide, doctor-led practice built to eliminate the barriers between patients and life-changing care. As the country's leading virtual neurology clinic, we provide an all-in-one longitudinal platform where cutting-edge technology meets specialized expertise to manage the entire spectrum of neurological diseases. While traditional brick-and-mortar clinics are at a breaking point, forcing patients to endure dangerous 4-6 month wait times, Neura is scaling the nation’s largest virtual practice to deliver immediate access to the 145 million Americans in need. Through strategic partnerships with leading health systems, pharmaceutical innovators, and large clinics, as well as a direct-to-patient model, we are fundamentally transforming the referral landscape and reducing average wait time from 276 days to 5 days. Our tech-enabled model provides a comprehensive, end-to-end experience that goes far beyond a standard consultation. We offer patients seamless access to personalized care plans and expert care navigation, ensuring no one has to manage their journey alone. This mission is powered by our multidisciplinary specialized care teams, which include world-class physicians, nurse practitioners, physician associates, and dedicated care coaches. We leverage AI-powered workflow optimization and continuous monitoring for everything from chronic headaches and epilepsy to complex memory disorders. Backed by $22M in funding from world-class investors, we are not just improving neurology; we are revolutionizing it. We are looking for purpose-driven innovators to join us in making high-quality brain health a reality for everyone. About the Role Neura Health is expanding its care model into behavioral health, and we’re looking for our first Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to help us build this vertical from the ground up. Given the high prevalence of co-morbid psychiatric conditions among our neurology patient population — including anxiety, depression, OCD, and PTSD alongside diagnoses like migraine, epilepsy, and memory disorders — this role is both clinically vital and strategically critical. As the first PMHNP, you will provide high-quality telehealth psychiatric care to Neura patients, working within our multidisciplinary care team. This is a part-time contract role (minimum 8 hours per week) with significant growth potential as we scale our behavioral health vertical. Multi-state licensure is strongly preferred — the more states you are licensed in, the greater your impact. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive telehealth psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment planning for Neura’s neurology patient population Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring for efficacy and side effects in the context of neurological co-morbidities Collaborate closely with Neura’s neurologists, nurse practitioners, and care coaches to deliver integrated, whole-patient care Document all clinical encounters in the EMR accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to Neura’s documentation standards Participate in care team case reviews, clinical huddles, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives Maintain multi-state licensure and practice within your licensed states; actively pursue additional state licensure as the patient panel grows Dedicate a minimum of 8 clinical hours per week to Neura, with the expectation to scale hours as the behavioral health vertical expands Help shape and inform Neura’s behavioral health clinical protocols, workflows, and patient experience as our first PMHNP hire Stay current with evidence-based practices in psychiatry, telepsychiatry, and the intersection of neurology and behavioral health Requirements Current, unrestricted PMHNP licensure in at least New York state; multi-state licensure strongly preferred (the more states, the better) Board certification as a PMHNP-BC (or ARNP with psychiatric specialty) Active DEA registration and prescriptive authority; ability to obtain DEA registration in additional states Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a PMHNP, with prior telehealth experience strongly preferred Demonstrated experience treating patients with psychiatric co-morbidities alongside chronic conditions, ideally in neurology, primary care, or integrated care settings Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) and telehealth platforms Ability to commit to a minimum of 8 patient care hours per week, with flexibility to scale as volume grows Strong written and verbal communication skills for both patient care and cross-functional team collaboration Reliable high-speed internet connection and a HIPAA-compliant workspace for telehealth sessions Mindset & Approach Genuinely passionate about caring for neurology patients and understanding how psychiatric co-morbidities affect their neurological health outcomes High ownership mentality — you proactively identify gaps in patient care and take initiative to address them Excited about building something new; you’re energized by being the first rather than intimidated by it Collaborative and low-ego; you work fluidly across a multidisciplinary team and build trust quickly Deeply mission-driven and excited about expanding access to high-quality mental health care within a neurology-focused model Patient and adaptable as processes evolve — you understand that early-stage means imperfect and you help make it better Ready to roll up your sleeves and jump in wherever needed — no task too big or too small Bonus Points Experience working with patients with epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, MS, dementia, or other neurological diagnoses Familiarity with Neura’s clinical model or prior experience at a digital health or virtual-first practice Experience with collaborative practice agreements or working under a supervising physician in states that require it Interest or experience in cli
