Position Overview
Road to Hire is seeking exceptional mission-aligned talent to join its team, as it pivots to a new chapter to position itself for new heights of student success and organizational excellence. As a College Success Coach II, you'll play a pivotal role in helping students navigate their academic path and achieve their educational goals.
You'll provide comprehensive student support centered on three key outcomes: college access, persistence, and completion. Managing a caseload of generally 120 - 160 participants, you'll deliver personalized coaching and mentorship while building a vibrant community that celebrates academic excellence and professional development. Your work will directly contribute to breaking down barriers and creating pathways to higher education for students who need it most.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individualized coaching and advising to 120 - 160 college students, supporting their academic, personal, and career development
Design and facilitate workshops, events, and initiatives that build community, expand professional networks, and enhance participants' personal and career readiness
Monitor student progress through data-driven approaches, identifying early intervention opportunities to ensure student success
Collaborate with campus partners, employers, and community organizations to create pathways for student success
Deliver both in-person and virtual programming to meet students where they are
Support program-wide initiatives that strengthen the education-to-workforce pipeline
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3+ years of experience as an academic coach, advisor, or similar role in higher education or education-related settings
Demonstrated track record of supporting student success, retention, and completion
Strong work ethic with ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high standards
Growth mindset with commitment to continuous learning and innovation
Deep understanding of the student lifecycle and the critical partnership between education and workforce development
Data fluency with ability to track, analyze, and report on student outcomes
Experience designing and facilitating student programming
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Bachelor's degree required
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual capabilities (Spanish)
Experience working with first-generation college students
Knowledge of challenges facing immigrant students in higher education, as the majority of the caseload of this coach will be supporting the Golden Door Scholars program
Knowledge of workforce development and career readiness strategies
Familiarity with college persistence frameworks and best practices
Compensation
Compensation Range: $60,000 - $65,000
*Note actual compensation is based on qualifications, and experience.

Reports to: Manager, College Success
Location Requirements: This hybrid role is based at Red Ventures corporation headquarters (our founding partner) in Charlotte, NC, with required on-site presence Tuesday through Thursday. Additional days may be needed for special programming and activities. The position involves significant student interaction through both in-person and virtual engagement with program participants, occasionally including occasional weekend commitments. Candidates must be located in the Charlotte metropolitan area.
