Staff Platform Product Manager, Cloud Security Architecture
Location: Palo Alto, CA (also open to other locations)
The Staff Product Manager for Cloud Security Architecture is a strategic role responsible for ensuring that Rubrik's cloud product offerings meet enterprise expectations for security and are secured from cyber-attacks. This technical role combines deep security expertise with strong product instincts and competitor awareness to translate customers' security challenges and concerns into actionable product requirements for Rubrik’s cloud product and cloud platform security roadmap.
Our product stands on a foundation of "Zero Trust" security and this role is critical in driving the long-term security vision and roadmap with a focus on identifying product gaps, market opportunities, developing long-term strategic plans, and implementing enhancements that drive industry-leading security standards and best practices into Rubrik products.
Specific Responsibilities:
Works closely with cloud product and engineering teams to develop a deep understanding of the Rubrik cloud product architecture
Ability to articulate and defend our architectural decisions cross functionally and to customers.
Contribute to cloud product and cloud platform security roadmap and execute for multiple, related security domains within the Rubrik offering, ensuring alignment and coherence across the portfolio.
Scan and keep abreast ofcustomer expectations and evolving hyperscaler best practices.
Act as a primary evangelist for the cloud product security and work with customers and account teams to define and evolve the roadmap across multiple dimensions (UX, technology, business) and deliver commercially viable security features and integrations across the Rubrik cloud portfolio
Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives and manage the execution across all cloud products, ensuring they meet platform security standards.
Lead and develop product risk identification, assessment, and resolution prioritization for high-impact platform vulnerabilities.
Partner with and influence senior cross-functional stakeholders—including InfoSec, Engineering, User Experience, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Support—to align vision across business units and secure project approval and resources.
Communicate concisely and clearly to diverse audiences, including presenting compelling business cases to executive leadership and representing Rubrik as a security expert to external audiences, customers, and ecosystem partners.
Drive significant business impact by identifying market opportunities and leading new product developments that contribute measurable increases to quarterly revenue, profitability, and customer trust.
Act as a mentor and role model for other Product Managers, sharing best practices, driving clarity in the face of ambiguity cross-functionally, and fostering strong partnerships with engineering teams.
Required Skills:
Experience or desire to be in Product Management, with at least 3 years focused on enterprise cloud product development with hyperscalers, ideally in a hands-on technical or architecture role.
Prior experience as a Security Architect, Solutions Architect, or Senior/Staff Engineer is highly desirable
Expertise in cloud security and threat modeling and working knowledge of big 3 hyperscalers with specific experience in cloud security posture management or secure cloud integration and defining secure architectures for solutions built on hyperscaler infrastructure.
Practical experience with API security, microservices architecture, and container security (e.g., Kubernetes).
Demonstrated success in owning and managing the strategy and execution of multiple, high-impact products simultaneously, leveraging a deep understanding of the underlying technology stack.
Proven ability to define, scope, and deliver large, complex features, leveraging deep technical acumen to define architecture, requirements, and measurable KPIs/goals while engaging effectively with cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience in the following security domains:
Zero Trust architecture and security principles, including experience translating those principles into product requirements
Authentication and authorization (SSO, SAML, OpenID, RBAC), for both human and non-human (API) actions
Data protection, immutable storage, and encryption technologies, including understanding of cryptographic primitives and key management architectures.
Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent work experience; advanced degree and/or relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CCSP, CISSP, CCSK) highly desired.
The minimum and maximum base salaries for this role are posted below; additionally, the role is eligible for bonus potential, equity and benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the role based on U.S. location. Within the range, the salary offered will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
