Here at Scout Motors, we're carrying forward the heritage of one of the most iconic American vehicles in history. A vehicle dating back to 1960. One that forged the path for future generations of rugged SUVs and trucks and will do so once again.
But Scout is more than just a brand, it’s a legacy steeped in a culture of exploration, caretaking, and hard work.
The Scout brand is all about respect. Respect for the past and the future by taking an iconic American brand that hasn’t been around for a while, electrifying it, digitizing it, and loading it with American innovation. Respect for communities by creating a company that stands for its people and its customers. Respect for both work and play, with vehicles that are equally at home at a camp site, a job site, or on a Tuesday commute. And respect for our customers by developing two powertrains that meet their requirements — an all-electric powertrain as well as the Harvester™ range extender powertrain which includes a built-in gas-powered generator with an estimated 500 miles of combined range.

What you’ll do
At Scout Motors , you don't just design vehicles- you shape the future of the road. Our Engineering team is where bold ideas meet rigorous execution, building machines that are as durable and capable as the people who drive them. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with brilliant minds across disciplines, turning complex challenges into elegant, scalable solutions that meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and user experience. This is a place where your fingerprints are found on metal – where what you design gets built, driven, and remembered. If you're hungry to engineer something that matters, Scout Motors is where that ambition finds its highest gear.
We are seeking a highly technical engineer to lead integration testing and validation of OTA (Over-the-Air) update systems on the vehicle side. This role focuses on deep system-level validation across ECUs, bootloaders, diagnostics, and vehicle networks, ensuring OTA updates execute reliably under all real-world conditions. Candidate will work hands-on with vehicles, HIL systems, and embedded software to validate end-to-end update flows, failure recovery, and cross-ECU coordination, with ownership of technical validation and release sign-off. This person will validate how all vehicle systems implement OTA robustly on the platform —directly shaping the reliability, scalability, and performance of the entire vehicle platform. Define and ensure OTA updates work flawlessly under real-world conditions preventing vehicle failures, enabling continuous software delivery, and protecting customer trust in software-defined EV platforms.
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
Execute and validate full OTA workflows, update trigger → package download → verification → flashing → ECU reboot → post-update validation
Test across single ECU updates, multi-ECU coordinated updates along with delta and full-image updates
Validate update sequencing and dependency management across ECUs
Test OTA interactions with ECU bootloaders, flash drivers and memory partitions
Validate A/B partitioning and rollback mechanisms, flash integrity and checksum validation
Validate version management, compatibility checks and debug failures at firmware and memory level
Perform OTA-related validation using UDS (ISO 14229) over CAN and DoIP
Develop tools for OTA test orchestration, automated flashing and validation, log parsing and anomaly detection
Validate diagnostic services during OTA request download / transfer data / transfer exit and ECU reset and session transitions
Ensure correct DTC behavior during and after updates, debug protocol-level issues (timeouts, negative responses, sequence errors)
Design and execute edge-case scenarios power loss during flashing, ignition/arbitration cycles mid-update and reliability with network interruptions (packet loss, latency spikes)
Validate recovery strategies, rollback behavior, ECU reprogramming resilience to ensure no-brick behavior for safety-critical ECUs
Design scalable regression test suites for consistent behavior across simulated and real-world environments across SIL, HIL and vehicle infrastructure
Analyze large-scale CAN/Ethernet logs for intermittent failures, cross-ECU timing mismatches, system-level integration issues
Own vehicle-level regression test planning, drive root cause analysis of cross-domain issues and help support integration war-room activities during DV/PV builds.
