We've raised $30M and are backed by world-class investors such as Y Combinator, QED, Deciens, Nyca, Plug and Play, WIN, Soma Capital, and Pioneer Fund.  About the role Tint is seeking a Head of Commercial Auto to lead the strategy, development, and growth of insurance solutions across the commercial auto market — including fleet operators, transportation platforms, gig economy drivers, specialty vehicle segments, and beyond. This leader will own the design and scaling of commercial auto insurance programs across Tint's most dynamic and high-growth verticals. Working closely with insurance carriers, brokers, transportation platforms, and internal product and operations teams, you will architect innovative insurance programs that address the unique risks and operational models of modern commercial auto businesses. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in commercial auto insurance across multiple transportation segments, along with a strong track record designing and launching insurance programs in partnership with carriers and distribution partners. This role is highly strategic and requires both insurance domain expertise and the ability to build and scale new market opportunities from the ground up. What you will do Lead Commercial Auto Insurance Strategy: Define and execute Tint's insurance strategy across the commercial auto vertical, identifying market opportunities and developing scalable insurance solutions for fleet-based, transportation, and mobility businesses. Design and Launch Insurance Programs: Lead the design and launch of commercial auto insurance programs across key market segments, including: Program structure and architecture Underwriting guidelines and eligibility criteria Pricing and risk segmentation strategies Policy forms, filings, and regulatory compliance Build Carrier and Capacity Partnerships: Develop and manage strategic relationships with insurance carriers, MGAs, reinsurers, and brokers to secure sustainable capacity and competitive program structures. Expand Tint's Presence in the Commercial Auto Ecosystem: Build relationships with leading transportation companies, fleet operators, gig platforms, and marketplaces to grow Tint's customer base and develop new embedded insurance opportunities. Monitor Program Performance: Evaluate program performance across underwriting results, claims trends, and operational metrics, identifying opportunities to optimize profitability, risk management, and customer value. Serve as Industry Subject Matter Expert: Act as Tint's internal and external expert on the commercial auto market, monitoring regulatory developments, emerging risks, and evolving insurance models across fleet, mobility, and transportation segments. Represent Tint in the Market: Engage with carriers, brokers, transportation companies, and industry groups to position Tint as a leader in innovative commercial auto insurance solutions.  You should apply if you have... Proven experience (5+ years) in commercial auto insurance, with meaningful exposure across fleet, transportation, mobility, or specialty vehicle markets Proven experience designing or launching insurance programs, including underwriting structures, filings, and carrier partnerships Strong understanding of commercial auto risk characteristics across diverse fleet and transportation operations Experience working with insurance carriers, MGAs, brokers, and reinsurers to structure insurance programs Ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, operations, and sales teams Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate market opportunities into scalable insurance solutions Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across carriers, partners, and internal teams Experience operating in fast-paced environments, including startups, MGAs, or program administrators Preferred Qualifications Experience working with embedded insurance, program business, or digital insurance platforms Familiarity with fleet telematics, risk analytics, or usage-based insurance models Professional certifications such as Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) is a plus Experience building or leading insurance programs serving multiple transportation or fleet-based segments  What We Value Most in a Candidate Culture is Key.
