About Wonderschool
Wonderschool’s mission is to ensure every child has access to early education that helps them realize their full potential. We do this by helping providers - small business owners who run in-home child care programs - start, operate, and grow their businesses with powerful software, coaching, and support. We also partner with governments to modernize the public child care system. Our team is small, in-person, and deeply motivated by the impact we have on families and communities.
About the Role
We are looking for an AI-focused Product Manager to own one of the most critical experiences in our platform: provider onboarding and activation. This is not a traditional PM role. You will be hands-on with customers every day - understanding their problems firsthand, translating those insights into product flows powered by AI, and shipping improvements fast. You will own the full loop from customer conversation to deployed product change.
The ideal candidate has a CS degree and has gone to business school - someone who can think technically, communicate clearly with engineers, and bring structured thinking to ambiguous customer problems. You should be comfortable using AI tools to accelerate your own work and excited about embedding AI into every layer of the customer experience.
We are hiring for two locations: Columbus, Ohio and San Francisco, California . Both roles are in-person.
What You’ll Do
Spend the majority of your time directly with customers - onboarding them, listening to their friction, and building trust
Translate customer insights into AI-powered product flows that reduce manual effort and support intervention
Design and ship product improvements quickly, often using AI to prototype and accelerate development
Build intuitive onboarding experiences that guide providers to success without requiring support
Use AI tools to automate repetitive steps in the onboarding and activation process
Collaborate with engineering and operations to scale what works and eliminate what doesn’t
Pull and analyze your own data to prioritize where to focus and measure what you ship
What Success Looks Like
Providers complete onboarding faster and with less friction, measured week over week
AI-driven flows replace manual onboarding steps across key parts of the experience
NPS of 9.5–10 or CSAT of 4.8–5 from onboarded providers
80% or more of onboarded providers convert to paying customers
50% or more of providers earn $150 or more per month within 60 days of onboarding
Near-zero support tickets and zero manual intervention needed per provider on average
Who You Are
Background in computer science (undergraduate CS degree required); business school or MBA strongly preferred
Product thinker who is energized by direct customer work - not behind a screen, but in the field
Fluent in AI tools and excited about using them to build better product experiences
Able to read and write code well enough to collaborate closely with engineers and prototype quickly
Strong communicator who can turn messy customer conversations into crisp product specs
Autonomous, high-judgment, and comfortable shipping imperfect things fast and iterating
In-person and energized by fast-paced, high-impact environments
Deeply motivated by helping small business owners and families
Locations
Columbus, Ohio - in-person
San Francisco, California - in-person, 5-6 days a week in our office in Rincon Hill
Why Join Us
Direct impact on families, small business owners, and communities every day
Work closely with the CEO and leadership team on one of the company’s top priorities
Be at the forefront of applying AI to a real, high-stakes customer experience
High autonomy, ownership, and visibility from day one
Join a small, fast-moving team that values action over process
How You'll Work
You are expected to use agentic tools like Claude Code, Hermes, and OpenClaw to build loops that automate the product management cycle - gathering feedback, developing prototypes, running tests, and shipping to production - both on your own and with your team.
You go where customers are to learn. That means showing up at events on nights and weekends when needed - farmers markets, parent events, and community gatherings - and doing the work to understand customers firsthand.
