About the Role We are looking for a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to lead the evolution of our cloud architecture. As SwiftLynx AI scales, we need to move from "moving fast" to "moving fast with stability." You will be the technical lead for our infrastructure, responsible for reliability, scalability, and—most importantly—developer velocity. You won't just be writing Terraform; you will be defining how our engineering team ships code, manages state, and handles API reliability across thousands of integrations. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities) Architect for Scale: Design and maintain our infrastructure on Vercel and AWS. Transition us from simple serverless functions to a robust, event-driven architecture capable of handling high-volume webhook ingestion and data processing. Reliability & Observability: Own the "production readiness" of our platform. Implement comprehensive tracing, logging, and alerting (e.g., Datadog, OpenTelemetry) to ensure 99.99% uptime for our API integrations. Developer Experience (DevEx): Build internal tooling and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) that allow product engineers to ship features safely and quickly without worrying about infrastructure. Data Infrastructure: Manage and scale our data layer, specifically optimizing our usage of Upstash (Redis/Kafka) and our primary databases (Postgres/SQL) for performance and cost. Security & Compliance: Lead initiatives for SOC2 compliance, data encryption, and secure credential management (handling OAuth tokens securely is critical to our business). Technical Leadership: Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, drive technical RFCs, and make build-vs-buy decisions for our tech stack. What We’re Looking For Experience: 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years focused on Infrastructure, SRE, or Platform Engineering. Modern Stack Expertise: Deep experience with TypeScript/Node.js ecosystems. You understand the nuances of Serverless (Lambdas/Vercel), Edge functions, and cold starts. Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency with Terraform, Pulumi, or SST. You believe infrastructure should be versioned and reviewed just like application code. Database Scaling: Experience managing connection pooling, caching strategies (Redis), and database migrations at scale. Integration Knowledge: Familiarity with OAuth flows, Webhooks, and rate-limiting strategies (concepts vital to our product). Strategic Mindset: Ability to balance technical purity with business needs. You know when to ship a "good enough" solution and when to engineer for 10x scale. Bonus Points Experience with Next.js internals and Vercel’s infrastructure. Experience implementing Queueing systems (BullMQ, SQS, Kafka) for asynchronous job processing. Background in the HR Tech / ATS space (Ashby, Lever, Greenhouse). Our Tech Stack Frontend/Backend: Next.js (App Router), TypeScript, React Infrastructure: Vercel, AWS Data: Upstash (Redis), Postgres CI/CD: GitHub Actions Observability: [Your Tool, e.g., Sentry, Datadog]
