The Director, Portfolio Program Management (PPM) will lead complex, high-impact programs within Aesthetics Medicine and serve as a key partner to the Asset Strategy Leader (ASL), asset strategy planner, and deliverable team project managers and co-chairs. In this role, you will help shape asset strategy, align execution plans, and drive delivery across the portfolio. This includes supporting the development and launch of novel medical device products, new clinical indications, and the global expansion of existing products.
As the operational leader of the asset and asset team, you will bring strong leadership, advanced project management expertise, and a strategic enterprise mindset to ensure effective execution and decision making. This role offers the opportunity to influence outcomes across a dynamic, cross-functional environment while contributing to meaningful innovation in medical devices.
Responsibilities
Partner with the Asset Strategy Leader, asset strategy planner, and deliverable team project managers and co-chairs to define asset strategy and execution plans
Lead the operational execution of the asset portfolio across products, indications, and projects.
Drive collaboration and alignment across the asset and deliverable teams through leadership of the asset Project Management Team (PMT).
Develop, monitor, and manage cross-functional project plans to ensure alignment with asset strategy and team objectives
Guide teams through key decision points, governance reviews, and stage-gate approvals
Proactively identify, assess, and resolve project risks and issues
Support timely execution of portfolio milestones, timelines, and budget expectations
Facilitate effective cross-functional team meetings, including agendas, action items, and decision tracking
Communicate portfolio status, risks, and key decisions to leadership and stakeholders
Contribute to departmental initiatives, documentation, and reporting
Mentor junior team members and help strengthen team capability
May provide oversight or support for Aesthetics Therapeutic Area Strategy Council (TASC) meetings
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline
8–12 years of experience in medical device R&D and/or pharmaceutical R&D
At least 5 years of direct project management experience in drug/device or product development projects
Strong knowledge of global device development, product registration, and launch processes
Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and meeting facilitation skills
Proficiency with enterprise-level project and portfolio management tools
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and attention to detail
Preferred
PMP certification
Experience mentoring or coaching team members
Familiarity with governance boards and portfolio-level decision making
