Fulfilling this mission requires employees working across our hospitals, clinics, programs, and offices to deliver services and support the communities we serve. Individuals interested in joining SFDPH should expect to work in person across these settings. The San Francisco Health Network, Population Health, Behavioral Health Services, and Administration are the core divisions of SFDPH. The San Francisco Health Network is the City’s only complete system of care and has locations throughout the City, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, and over 15 primary care health centers. The Population Health Division (PHD) provides core public health services for the City and County of San Francisco: health protection, health promotion, disease and injury prevention, and disaster preparedness and response. Behavioral Health Services operates in conjunction with SFHN and provides a range of mental health and substance use treatment services. START  with this  Required Exam:    https://forms.gle/RnKkHHUqmzSpiA9EA  ✅  Then, submit an online application Under general supervision, the Occupational Therapist assesses, plans, and implements appropriate Occupational Therapy habilitative and rehabilitative treatment interventions for clients in acute-care and long-term hospitals, senior programs, mental health settings, clinical outpatient centers, home health, public school settings, and other similar institutions. Duties Include Evaluation of client needs Treatment planning Implementation of occupational therapy treatment Documenting treatment per facility and regulatory guidelines Reassessment of client progress and treatment plan Client discharge planning Regular communication with rehabilitation team members, clients, client family members, and other health care or community partners regarding treatment programs and services May include supervising assigned staff, students, interns, and volunteers The 2548 may perform other duties as assigned/required. Please note that incumbents in this classification may be required to perform duties as listed in the class specification, which can be found on DHR’s website: https://careers.sf.gov/classifications/ For all Positions:  License: Possession of a valid Occupational Therapy License issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT). For CCS 3 months of pediatric experience* *These qualifications contain Special Conditions that may differ from the standard minimum qualifications associated with this class code. One-year full-time employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40-hour work week).  Basic Life Support for Professional Rescuer (BLS) Certificate Requirement/Provision Possession of a valid Basic Life Support for Professional Rescuer (BLS) Certificate issued by the American Heart Association is required as a provision to employment for all positions. Eligibles who do not possess such a certification may participate in this examination process and be appointed to a position(s),but will be required to obtain the certificate within two (2) weeks of the hire date and maintain validity throughout the length of employment. A photocopy of the valid Basic Life Support for Professional Rescuer (BLS) Certificate must be provided to the appropriate supervisor of the appointment within the allotted time frame. Failure to demonstrate/show proof of possession of valid certification within two (2) weeks of the hire date and throughout the length of employment may result in dismissal and/or termination of employment.  Additional qualifications may be required among these example opportunities: Rehabilitation Department  - Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG) ZSFG is a community hospital and the only Level I Trauma Center for San Francisco and northern San Mateo. Occupational therapists provide Inpatient Acute Care Rehabilitation, SNF Rehabilitation, and Outpatient Rehabilitation Services which include Hand Therapy Services. Our mission is to provide high-quality, equitable, and compassionate rehabilitation services to the greater San Francisco community. ZSFG is a teaching hospital that provides care to both the adult and pediatric populations. Occupational therapists who have experience working with individuals who have sustained poly-trauma, neurologic impairment, orthopedic injury, and general medicine patients are encouraged to apply. Clinical mentorship is available. Department of Psychiatry  - Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG) At ZSFG in the Department of Psychiatry, Occupational Therapists who have recent experience within the last year of working with people who have a mental health diagnosis, or those who have successful completion of a 3-month internship in mental health may apply.
