The Clinician II will work to address the unique needs of individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) in our Habilitative Skill Building (HSB) Program in Tacoma, WA. Individuals receiving services are adults with often times multiple diagnoses and present with significant challenging behaviors. Many individuals supported in the HSB program have transitioned out of more restrictive settings, such as residential habilitation centers, state hospitals, correctional facilities, and diversion programs. Supported individuals may also be part of the WA Community Protection Program and may have criminal backgrounds requiring increased clinical support in order to thrive in a community setting.
Manage caseload of individuals for treatment implementation
Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and develop Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs)
Provide clinical guidance to Direct Support Professionals and Program Managers
Conduct frequent program visits to interact with supported individuals and staff
Complete progress reports, documentation and data collection, updating plans as necessary
Review data to ensure care meets individual's current needs
Assist in providing crisis intervention and outreach as needed.
Foster positive rapport with individuals, parents, and guardians
Participate in the debriefing of significant incidents of individuals on caseload when requested
Attend person-centered planning meetings, referral/intake meetings, and home staffing meetings
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with external service providers including DDA, Consultants, Hospitals, external providers, etc.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
Must have a master's degree in psychology, behavior analysis, mental health, special education, social work, or other related discipline; or be graduating with master's degree within the next 6 months.
2+ years of professional experience with individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities (IDD) is required
Relevant experience in designing and implementing support plans for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and/or challenging behaviors
Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred
