The Senior Quality Control Specialist serves as a subject matter expert within McGee's Safety and Compliance team, supporting the organization's commitment to safe, compliant, and operationally excellent ground-handling operations. This role is responsible for evaluating compliance with regulatory, customer, and company standards through audits, assessments, investigations, and data analysis.
As a trusted partner to station leadership and operational teams, the Senior Quality Control Specialist identifies risks, analyzes trends, investigates operational issues, and develops recommendations that strengthen safety performance, operational consistency, and regulatory compliance across the network. This role collaborates with leaders at all levels to drive corrective actions, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure the effectiveness of McGee's Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Control programs.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert in quality control, operational compliance, and Safety Management System (SMS) processes.
Partner with the Manager, SMS & Quality Control to develop, administer, and continuously improve quality assurance programs, regulatory audits, risk assessments, and ISAGO compliance activities.
Conduct operational, regulatory, and compliance audits to evaluate adherence to company, customer, airport, and regulatory requirements.
Analyze audit findings, operational data, and safety trends to identify systemic risks, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Perform incident investigations and root cause analyses to identify contributing factors and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Prepare audit reports and communicate findings, recommendations, and risk assessments to station and executive leadership.
Partner with operational leaders to develop, implement, and monitor corrective action plans that address identified risks and compliance concerns.
Evaluate the effectiveness and sustainability of corrective actions through follow-up assessments and validation activities.
Provide coaching, guidance, and training to leaders and frontline teams on quality standards, compliance requirements, and operational best practices.
Develop, maintain, and update department manuals, policies, procedures, and other controlled documentation to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Research regulatory, industry, and operational changes and recommend updates to policies, procedures, and business practices as needed.
Support cross-functional safety, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Represent the Safety and Compliance team in meetings, projects, audits, and customer interactions.

Perform other duties as assigned to support McGee’s successful business operation.
Required
3 or more years of experience in airline, aviation, airport operations, ground handling, safety, quality assurance, compliance, training, or a related operational environment.
Working knowledge of airline ground handling operations, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Experience conducting audits, investigations, assessments, or operational reviews.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, assess risk, and develop practical solutions.
Ability to communicate findings, recommendations, and technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with limited supervision.
Ability to obtain and maintain all required airport security badges, customs seals, and other applicable clearances.
Ability to influence others, work cross-functionally, and contribute positively to a team-oriented, safety-first culture.
Ability to work any shift, including early mornings, late nights, weekends and Holidays as business needs require.
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Safety, Business, Operations, or a related field.
Experience supporting a Safety Management System (SMS), quality assurance, compliance, or internal audit program.
Knowledge of IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) standards and auditing practices.
Experience conducting root cause analysis and corrective action management.
