We are looking for a Senior Staff High Voltage Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to help define the future of AI datacenter power architectures .
The industry is undergoing a fundamental shift toward 800V “grid‑to‑core” power delivery , with new architectures spanning from rack‑level HVDC distribution down to GPU‑level 48V and emerging 6V rails . This role sits directly at the center of that transformation.
You will work closely with leading hyperscale customers to solve some of the hardest challenges in power delivery today: how to move and convert tens of kilowatts efficiently, how to scale power density, and how to architect the next generation of 800V → 48V → 6V → sub‑1V systems that enable AI compute.
This is not a traditional FAE role. You will act as a system architect, technical leader, and trusted advisor , engaging early in platform definition and driving decisions that shape customer roadmaps. You will help customers evaluate competing architectures, bring up cutting‑edge designs, and deploy real solutions using advanced technologies including GaN, digital power, and multiphase GPU power delivery .
If you are motivated by working on unsolved problems, influencing industry direction, and operating at the intersection of system architecture, silicon, and real‑world deployment , this role offers a rare opportunity to have outsized impact.
1. Lead Grid‑to‑Core Power Architecture Engagement
Serve as the primary technical interface to hyperscale datacenter and AI customers for high‑voltage (400V / 800V) power architectures
Drive early‑stage architectural influence with customer power, system, and platform teams
Translate system requirements into clear architecture proposals and tradeoffs
Support board ‑ level bring ‑ up, validation, and debug in customer labs and internal labs
Act as a technical mentor for other FAEs, especially in high‑voltage and system‑level topics
Support multiple customers and programs in parallel while maintaining high technical credibility and ownership
2. Drive 800V Power Conversion Strategy
Lead customer engagement for: 800V to 48V DCX (LLC‑based DC transformers)
800V to 12V direct downconversion paths
HV hot‑swap, protection, and energy storage integration
Help customers evaluate: Multi‑stage vs direct conversion approaches
Efficiency vs density vs thermal constraints
Position differentiated solutions in a rapidly emerging, competitive 800V ecosystem
3. Own 48V Intermediate Bus and GPU Power Delivery
Drive architecture and implementation of 48V‑based power delivery systems
Lead solutions for: 48V to 12V IBC designs (4:1 conversion)
48V to 6V GPU rails (8:1 conversion and multiphase buck)
High‑density, high‑current delivery for next‑generation GPU platforms
Support customer transition toward: Direct 6V architectures
Higher current density and reduced form factor constraints
Act as a key technical authority for GPU board‑level power scaling challenges
4. Enable System‑Level Solutions and Proof‑of‑Concepts
Drive adoption of complete solutions, not just components
Engage with internal teams to develop and deploy: High‑voltage DC/DC platforms
48V multiphase buck and IBC solutions
End‑to‑end power conversion reference designs
Support customers through: Early architecture definition
Board bring‑up and validation
Performance optimization and characterization
5. Influence Product Direction and Technology Roadmaps
Identify gaps in: Power density and efficiency
Integration and system usability
Documentation and tools
Translate customer needs into clear, actionable roadmap inputs across: GaN, SiC, MOSFET technologies
Controllers, drivers, and system solutions
Influence next‑generation products aligned with emerging AI infrastructure needs
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
10+ years of experience in power electronics or system architecture
Strong experience with high‑voltage systems (400V to 800V)
Deep understanding of: Datacenter or AI platform power architectures
HVDC distribution and intermediate bus design
High‑power DC/DC conversion at kW scale
Proven hands‑on lab expertise in bring‑up, debug, and validation
Experience working directly with hyperscale or large enterprise customers
Strong communication skills with ability to influence technical and executive audiences
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience with AI accelerators, GPUs, or high‑power server platforms
Expertise in: LLC / DCX architectures
IBC (48V to 12V / 6V)
Multiphase VR and high‑current GPU power delivery
Familiarity with GaN and SiC technologies
Proven track record influencing system architecture decisions
Ability to operate independently in fast‑moving, high‑impact environments
Why This Role
Work directly with industry‑leading AI and hyperscale customers
Shape the transition to 800V datacenter power architectures
Own end‑to‑end system engagement from grid to GPU
Influence both customer platforms and internal product direction
Operate at Senior Staff level with broad, cross‑functional impact
