ProSidian Seeks a Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant Glass Subject Matter Expert - GSSC [1099 Contractor Senior Consultant] located: The Hanford Eastern Washington (Tri-Cities - Kennewick | Pasco | Richland) Area to Provide services and support as a Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant Glass Subject Matter Expert (PR0165) at The Hanford Eastern Washington (Tri-Cities - Kennewick | Pasco | Richland) Area.
JOB OVERVIEW
Provide Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) Subject Matter Expert support services as part of general support services for The Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Site for the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant Project (WTP).
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
The Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Site requires general support services for the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant Project (WTP). WTP requests 0.5 full-time equivalents (FTE) general support contractor (960 labor hours) to provide support in the following areas:
Provides detailed research evaluations to ensure that credible engineering input based upon sound scientific principles can be utilized by the WTP in support of its mission.
Provides technical oversight of manuscripts prepared by Enhanced Waste Glass program performers for submission to high-impact professional journals.
Contributes to operational risk reduction.
Participates in the specification of a methodology for evaluating new glass-forming chemical sources and evaluation of the needed sources.
Evaluates and contributes to matrixes of glass productions.
Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant Glass Subject Matter Expert shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner. Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant Glass Subject Matter Expert employee shall submit a weekly report to the technical monitor addressing work accomplished, and deliverable progress.
Desired Qualifications For A GSSC Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant Glass Subject Matter Expert (PR0165) | 1099 Contractor Candidates:
The Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant Glass Subject Matter Expert - GSSC shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position.
Skills / Abilities / Education / Experience Requirements / Qualifications
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Contractor personnel shall possess the following minimum qualifications:
Education – MS or higher degree in engineering or physical science. Nine (9) years of experience may be substituted for MS degree.
Experience – Nine (9) years of directly applicable successful experience as a management consultant or senior manager. University-level teaching and supervising postdoctoral students' experience would be considered applicable.
Demonstrate familiarity and relevant experience or ability to advance the measurement of cold-cap rheology, slurry feed melting, and viscosity properties of melts.
List of experience/papers or publications with advanced scientific modeling of temperature-viscosity, for evolved gases and GFC sources for glass melters (past ten years only).
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrate familiarity and relevant experience and ability to perform under Hanford or other government agency procedures.
Compliance with site-specific safety and security requirements, including badging and office protocols.
Identification of any conflicts, potential conflicts, or perceived conflicts of interest with any Hanford Site contractors.
