JOB OVERVIEW:
Blue Diamond Growers is a grower-owned cooperative made up of approximately 3,000 growers and is one of the world’s leading almond processors and marketers, with $1.7B in annual revenue and products sold across the U.S. and in markets around the world. With a strong manufacturing footprint and deep agricultural roots, BDG is focused on delivering high-quality almond products through operational excellence, innovation, and partnership.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the role owns the end-to-end Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process (Demand, Almond Supply, Supply, Integrated Reconciliation), ensuring the company’s most critical cross-functional planning processes deliver measurable financial and operational results.
The role acts as the partner for enterprise alignment - connecting strategy, demand, supply, inventory, and execution. IBP is positioned as the main management system of the business, enabling clear trade-offs, disciplined decision-making, and predictable value delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Integrated Business Planning Leadership
Governance, Cadence & Decision Quality:
Owns and continuously improves Blue Diamond’s end-to-end IBP framework, ensuring tight integration between:
Strategic priorities and full year execution
Demand, supply, and inventory planning
Financial commitments (P&L, cash flow, working capital, capital spend)
Lead, coordinate and orchestrate the full IBP governance cadence, including:
Demand Review
Almond Supply Review
Supply Review
Integrated Reconciliation/Management Review
Ensure IBP forums are decision-oriented, with clear visibility of:
Risks and opportunities
Ensure gaps between operational plans and financial commitments are surfaced early, quantified, and escalated with clear options and recommendations.
Reinforce financial discipline by ensuring trade-offs are explicitly framed, decisions are documented, and outcomes are tracked (net profit and cash flow)
Required executive decisions and ownership
Embed scenario planning as a core capability to proactively manage volatility related to demand shifts, crop variability, capacity constraints, and margin pressure.
Establish IBP as the single source of truth for enterprise volume, mix, capacity, inventory, and service assumptions.
Governance, Cadence & Decision Quality
Design and maintain enterprise planning and execution governance that ensures:
Clear decision rights and accountability
Consistent operating cadence across functions
Executive focus on the highest-value issues
Improve decision quality by strengthening:
Data integrity and assumption transparency
Scenario comparison and trade-off visibility
Alignment between strategic intent and execution reality
Prepare executive-level materials that are concise, insight-driven, and focused on actions and decisions.
Leadership & Development
Build, lead, influence, and develop teams cross-functionally through:
Strong analytical capability
Business and financial acumen
Executive communication skills
Influence without authority
Foster a culture of enterprise thinking, collaboration, and accountability.
Elevate IBP maturity across the organization by coaching functional leaders,
standardizing ways of working, and reinforcing ownership of commitments.
Serve as a change/transformation leader, shifting mindsets from functional optimization to enterprise value optimization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent (MBA preferred)
15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Integrated Business Planning: Critical experience:
Demonstrated end-to-end IBP implementation experience
Worked across Sales, Operations, Finance and Supply Chain
Nice to have: PMI certifications and Six-Sigma (at least green belt)
Experience in asset-intensive, demand/supply-driven environments (CPG, food, agriculture, manufacturing preferred)
Technical & Business Skills
Deep understanding of IBP maturity models and best practices
Strong business acumen with the ability to translate operational plans into value creation impacts
Experience with ERP, planning, and analytics platforms (e.g., SAP, BI solutions, AI tools including Claude)
Ability to synthesize complex data into clear executive-level insights
