J ob Description:
DTN is seeking a Controller to lead and scale our global accounting function at a critical point in the company’s growth. This role is responsible for the end-to-end integrity of DTN’s financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting operations globally, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability across a complex, multi-entity environment.
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller serves as a key member of the Finance leadership team, partnering on financial strategy, governance, and business decision support. This role operates with enterprise-wide impact, shaping how accounting supports DTN’s growth, evolving business model, and operational rigor. The Controller plays a critical role in ensuring DTN’s financial foundation scales with the business—balancing accuracy, control, and compliance with the speed and flexibility required to support growth.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Global Accounting Leadership & Financial Integrity
Lead the global accounting function, including General Ledger, Billing, Collections (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Sales Support , with responsibility for teams across all regions
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS
Maintain a scalable and efficient accounting operating model to support DTN’s growth
Ensure consistent application of accounting policies, strong internal controls, and effective governance across all regions
Strategic Partnership with CFO & Finance Leadership
Partner directly with the CFO to shape financial strategy, reporting, and governance priorities
Provide clear, actionable insights on financial performance, risks, and trade-offs to support executive decision-making
Translate complex accounting topics into business-relevant guidance for senior stakeholders
Technical Accounting & Compliance
Own DTN’s technical accounting framework , including policy development and application of evolving standards (e.g., ASC 606, IFRS 15)
Oversee review of complex and non-standard contracts , ensuring appropriate revenue recognition and accounting treatment
Lead adoption and implementation of new accounting standards
Audit, Controls & Risk Management
Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors , owning audit strategy, execution, and outcomes
Strengthen and scale DTN’s internal control environment , ensuring compliance and future readiness
Proactively identify and mitigate financial and operational risks
Operational Excellence & Transformation
Drive process simplification, standardization, and automation across accounting operations
Partner cross-functionally on system implementations, integrations, and data governance , ensuring accounting requirements are embedded early
Lead accounting support for M&A activity , including due diligence, integration, and purchase accounting
Leadership & Team Development
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global accounting team
Set clear expectations and operating rhythms that drive accountability, efficiency, and quality
Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and strong cross-functional partnership
What You Will Bring to the Role
10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or equivalent) and corporate leadership roles
Proven experience leading global accounting functions in a complex, multi-entity environment (SaaS experience preferred)
Deep expertise in US GAAP and IFRS , including revenue recognition standards
Demonstrated ability to operate as a strategic partner to executive leadership , not just a functional expert
Experience leading audits, internal controls, and compliance frameworks
Track record of driving process improvement, system implementation, and automation initiatives
Strong leadership capability with experience building and developing teams in a scaling organization
Exceptional judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in complex and ambiguous environments
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills , with the ability to influence at the executive level
