Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago Job Description General Summary:      The Respiratory Care Clinical Educator is a Licensed Respiratory Therapist who influences professional role competence and professional growth of learners in a variety of settings.  The Clinical Educator supports lifelong learners in an inter-professional environment that facilitates continuous development and learning for the healthcare team. Essential Job Functions: Develops knowledge and competency in pediatric respiratory care and professional development practices. Evaluates personal practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, and relevant statutes, rules, and regulations. Implements strategies for seamless transitions to practice and between practice settings. Assesses clinical skills of staff and provides learning opportunities to advance clinical competencies and decision-making skills of staff, and documents competencies. Uses the best available evidence to guide practice decisions. Facilitates professional role development. Actively works to assist in transformation processes at the unit/area level, utilizing project management and improvement processes. Other job functions as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: A Bachelor of Science degree is required.  Master’s degree in area of specialization or in adult education preferred. Current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Illinois. Active RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist) from the National Board for Respiratory Care. Recognized certification in specialty area of clinical practice. Minimum three years of clinical experience in specialty area, preferred Basic Life Support certification required from the American Heart Association CPR instructor, within 6 months of hire       Resuscitation requirements as appropriate to specialty area, within 6 months of hire  #LI-EB1 Education Bachelor's Degree (Required) Pay Range $83,200.00-$137,280.00 Salary At Lurie Children’s, we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity, reflecting individual contributions, experience, and expertise. The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position.
