PATH seeks a Finance Officer for the US G -funded Reaching every at-risk community and household with malaria services (REACH Malaria) global project. REACH aims to provide implementation support services and technical assistance to countries to accelerate progress in comprehensive delivery of facility and community-based malaria services, including malaria case management, prevention of malaria in pregnancy ( MiP ), seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC), health systems strengthening, data collection and use for service delivery, and other malaria prevention interventions.
The Finance Officer will report to the Finance and Admin Manager and assist with all f inancial management and compliance , h uman resource management , o perations and logistic s project activities.
*This position is based in Bujumbura, Burundi
Responsibilities :
M onitor budgets and keep project management updated about spending against project budgets.
Ensure compliance with all USAID and PATH policies, practices, and regulations; advise project staff on donor requirements .
Analyze project expenses, including partner financial reports, on a monthly and quarterly basis .
Prepare monthly financial projections, forecasts and cash requests in collaboration with the technical team.
Coordinate input for the annual work plan and budgeting process with the project team .
Support procurement of in-country commodities and other project equipment as needed, in collaboration with REACH Director of Finance and Administration .
Support project team to identify and ensure that necessary approval s are secured .
Monitor budget utilization to ensure expenditures are within approved limits.
Support the Finance and Admin Manager during internal and external audits by providing required documents .
Support internal and external audits, including monitoring completion of corrective action .
Support p roperty and asset management including IT, equipment, transportation, and insurance .
Support procurement processes and follow up to ensure that they are delivered on time with required specs.
Support the Finance and Admin Manager to plan all logistics required for CSOs training /Workshops .
Serve as a backup to the project Finance team
Manage consultant agreements and contracts to ensure that all deliverables are met .
Required skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or business-related field.
Minimum of five years in an administrative and financial management position in an international organization , USAID experience preferred .
Experience in developing, monitoring , and reporting on complex budgets.
Thorough knowledge of applicable USAID rules and regulations .
Proficiency in M S Office applications including word and excel
Experience in managing project funds, and financial reporting and data analysis, auditing ,
Able to work as part of a team and to build strong working relationships.
Excellent attention to detail, sound planning and organizational skills, and problem-solving skills.
Analytical approach to work and strong time management skills
Ab ility to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Strong work ethic , resourcefulness, integrity, credibility, and dedication to PATH’s mission .
Professional proficiency in English required .
