As Solution Architect, Medical Imaging , you'll define and govern the end‑to‑end architecture for medical imaging solutions across the product landscape.
Working remotely in the UK, in this newly created role your brief will be to ensure that applications, domains, and platform services integrate coherently to deliver scalable, reliable and compliant imaging workflows which support global clinical trials.
Deploying your combination of architectural experience and deep medical imaging domain knowledge, y ou'll translate product strategy and business objectives into solution‑level architectural direction, aligning multiple domains, teams and stakeholders around a unified technical vision. You'll be responsible for product‑wide architectural consistency, non‑functional requirements, security and regulatory alignment and technical risk management. Working closely with Product, Clinical, QA/RA, Security, Platform Engineering and Application Architects, your priority will be to guide architectural decisions which balance delivery efficiency, long‑term sustainability and business value.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Requirements Definition & Management
Own product-level translation of functional and non-functional requirements across domains
Define and align NFRs (availability, scalability, resilience, security, privacy) for the product/portfolio
Harmonize cross-domain requirements; resolve conflicts and drive consistent interpretation
Coordinate constraints and dependencies with Platform, Data, Security, QA/RA, and Clinical stakeholders
Run architecture refinement forums; align roadmap with technical runway and compliance needs
Establish requirement management practices and traceability expectations across programs
Arbitrate competing priorities across teams and stakeholders; manage systemic risks
Standardize ADR taxonomy and governance processes across the product line
Cloud‑Native SaaS Architecture Design
Define product-wide cloud topology and regional deployment strategy
Coordinate cross-domain HA/DR, failover patterns, and capacity planning
Approve major service choices, integration patterns, and data-plane/compute strategies
Drive security-by-design and zero-trust posture across the product line
Standardize messaging, API contract, and integration approaches across domains
Define portfolio SLIs/SLOs and operational guardrails; review deviations
Mentor application architects on distributed systems decisions and cloud trade-offs
Plan evolution for scale, resilience, and cost efficiency across programs
AI‑Driven Medical Imaging Platform Development
Align AI services and capabilities across the product line to avoid duplication
Define experimentation and rollout patterns (shadow, A/B, canary) with rollback strategies
Coordinate validation plans with QA/RA and Clinical SMEs for regulated releases
Establish AI governance checkpoints and product-level KPIs
Plan capacity for accelerators (GPU) and cost controls for AI workloads
Standardize AI architecture (registries, drift detection, retraining cadence) across programs
Harmonize AI risk controls and documentation/evidence packages
Guide adoption of emerging AI capabilities that fit clinical and regulatory needs
Medical Image Viewer Integration & Workflow Design
Unify viewer workflows and UX patterns across the product line
Define extensibility model and governance for plugins and SDKs
Resolve cross-domain integration issues (routing, session management, state consistency)
Validate third-party viewer fit, vendor selection criteria, and compliance implications
Plan scalability for concurrent reading sessions and global deployments
Standardize reusable UI libraries and workflow service patterns across products
Oversee portfolio performance SLAs for visualization and workflow latency
Review security posture for viewer ecosystem and integrations
Regulatory Compliance & Security Architecture
Own product/portfolio compliance posture and validation approach
Align with InfoSec on secure-by-design patterns and zero-trust controls
Define segregation-of-duties, access models, and operational controls
Plan DR/BCP scenarios and ensure periodic exercises across products
Ensure vendor risk management and supplier controls across programs
Oversee remediation plans from audits, pen tests, and security assessments
Standardize validation documentation templates and compliance reference patterns
Track regulatory changes and guide impact across the product line
Database & Data Architecture for Medical Imaging
Define product data topology (e.g., lake/ lakehouse zones) and cross-domain ownership
Align cross-domain data contracts, APIs, and stewardship
Plan replication/DR, cost, and performance for data platforms
Coordinate privacy-by-design (anonymization, minimization) across products
Oversee cataloging and governance with Data teams
Standardize portfolio data models, quality SLAs, and lineage policies
Promote reusable datasets and semantic layers across products
