Printpack is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Ink Technician for the Converting plant in Grand Prairie, TX. The Ink Technician is responsible for preparing, blending, and managing inks, primers, and adhesives to support printing operations. This position requires expertise in color matching, formulation, and inventory management while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and quality standards. This position reports to the Shift Supervisor / Prepress Supervisor. This will be a 3/2 Night shift position (7pm-7am, Sun/Wed/Thurs- Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat) Key Responsibilities:    Prepare and blend raw materials for ink, primer, and * adhesive formulation      Formulate and tone colors for press runs   Maintain press ink supply and prepare materials for upcoming jobs   Manage ink inventory and related materials   Process returned inks and track solvent usage   Input data into PRISM system   Handle, store, and label hazardous materials   Support press changeovers   Maintain cleanliness of work area   Operate equipment including lift trucks and pallet jacks   Contribute to waste reduction initiatives   Other duties as assigned   Education & Experience :       2 years ink technician experience preferred    Required Skills:   Proficiency in color matching and blending ( m ust pass Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Color Vision Test )   Knowledge of PRISM, SPEC, and X-RITE systems   Strong mathematical and analytical abilities   Excellent attention to detail   Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Google Apps)   Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)   Understanding of safety protocols   Strong communication skills   Time management and organizational abilities   Additional Requirements:    Must be 18 years of age   Must pass pre-employment assessment    Drug screening required     Background check required   K nowledge, Skills & Abilities:       Ink formulation and color theory   Safety protocols for handling hazardous materials   Quality control procedures   Inventory management principles   Computer systems and software   Color matching and blending   Mathematical calculations   Data entry and record keeping   Problem-solving   Time management   Food safety standards   Analytical thinking   Team collaboration   Effective communication     Physical Demands: The associate will be exposed to the manufacturing environment where hazards and requirements may include but are not limited to :   Lifting up to 50 pounds   Must be able to climb, kneel, bend, squat , stoop and reach   Must be able to push & pull   Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time   Color vision discrimination (must pass Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Color test)   Manual dexterity for operating equipment   Ability to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)   Forklift certification or ability to obtain forklift and pallet jacks   Work Conditions: The majority of tasks will be performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure to:    Noise levels above 8 5 dB    Operation of complex machinery    Solvents, fumes and inks   Variable Temperatures   Must be able to work flexible shifts    May require overtime, weekends, and holidays.    An additional $2.50/hr premium for NIGHT Shift only between the hours of 7pm-7am. Any hours worked outside of 7pm-7am will not receive the premium.
