The Opportunity:
As the Children’s Center Food Service Worker , you will work under the general supervision of the Assistant Director to receive and distribute prepared meals from Dining Services. You will be responsible for maintaining records, including temperature logs, menu adjustments, inventory, and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) reporting requirements. In this role, you will prepare food substitutions for allergies or intolerances, deliver meals to classrooms, and clean the kitchen and wash dishes after meal service. You will also ensure that all food service operations meet safe, sanitary, and quality control standards.

This is a full time (100 % FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible .
Monthly Salary: $3,189 to $4,216 | Range 35 Steps A - M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 .
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 , the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
Possession of, or eligible for at time of hire, a food handler’s permit; OR equivalent education/experience.
Satisfactory background check through the Washington Department of Children, Youth, and Families at time of hire.
Proof of measles ( MMR ) vaccination, or other acceptable documentation as established by the Washington Department of Health and Revised Code of Washington ( RCW ) 43.216.690 .
Negative tuberculosis (TB) test within previous 12 months, in accordance with W ashington Administrative Code ( WAC ) 110-300-0105 .
Preferred Qualifications:
SERV safe certification.
Experience in child care food management.
Working knowledge of CACFP Food program.
Experience with food allergies, intolerances, and dietary preferences.
Experience working with children.
General knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment use and safety.
Experience leading and training employees..
