Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead a team of five accounting professionals. This role will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and maintaining accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate is both technically strong and an effective people leader who can drive process improvements and maintain a high standard of accuracy.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting staff, providing ongoing guidance, training, and performance feedback
Foster a high-performing, collaborative environment and support professional growth
Directly supervise a team of accounting professionals, including assigning work, setting priorities, and evaluating performance
Participate in hiring, promotion, disciplinary action, and termination decisions, or provide recommendations that are given particular weight
Close Process & Financial Accuracy
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end close processes
Audit, Compliance & Controls
Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting processes
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards
Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries
Process Improvement & Systems
Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to drive efficiency and accuracy
Evaluate and implement improvements to accounting processes, controls, and systems
Partner with cross-functional leaders to resolve business and accounting issues impacting financial results
Additional Responsibilities & Miscellaneous
Perform other duties as assigned to support Accounting and corporate objectives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management experience
Proven experience managing and developing a team
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
Experience in a mid- to large-size organization
Background in process improvement or system implementations
Public accounting experience (a plus)
Compensation and Benefits
Reports To Sr. Manager Accounting
Compensation The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on experience, qualifications, and work location within state. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Base: $130,000 - $150,000 per year
Bonus: 15% Target Bonus
Total Compensation (Base + Bonus): The successful candidate could reasonably expect a Total Compensation Package in the range of $140,000 - $184,000
Equity: This role is not eligible for equity opportunities, awards or grants
