Job Description:
Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking an Accounting Supervisor reporting to the Assistant Controller in Midland, Texas. This position will be responsible for the below responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical as well as communication skills and be able to contribute his/her expertise while working on multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
General responsibilities
Oversee monthly close activities, reviewing preliminary month-end results and approving accrual journal entries across LOE, Capital, and Revenue
Analyze actuals vs. estimates and author monthly explanations of trends and fluctuations across LOE, Capital, and Revenue, identifying efficiencies and gaps to create new processes and controls
Prepare analysis of key monthly metrics and develop reports for management meetings and data analysis
Support the Assistant Controller and Controller across all operational accounting functions, improving existing processes to scale with a growing company
Establish and maintain strong relationships with Revenue Accounting, Marketing, Production Accounting, Land, Engineering, and the Reporting Team to facilitate accrual preparation and analysis
Assist in budget and forecasting process including quarter-end close and reconciliations
Leverage AI tools such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot to drive efficiency across accounting, analysis, and reporting workflows
Provide support for special projects and perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent experience
Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel and Word)
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Perform responsibilities effectively and efficiently
Superior ability to prioritize activities and meet all deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must possess a strong work ethic and demonstrate a positive and flexible attitude in a fast-paced work environment
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of accounting experience; oil and gas experience (exposure to LOE, Capital, and/or Revenue functions) preferred, though public accounting or other relevant experience will also be considered
Quorum accounting software experience, preferred but not required
