Description of Work
The North Carolina Early Intervention Section is a part of the Division of Child and Family Well-Being. It is the lead agency for the N.C. Infant-Toddler Program which provides supports and services for families and their children, birth to three, who have developmental delays and/or disabilities.
Children's Developmental Services Agencies (CDSAs) are the local agencies that implement the NC ITP across North Carolina, working with local service providers to help families help their children succeed.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide a variety of business and clerical support functions that allow the CDSA to maximize agency revenues and staff efficiency and comply with state and federal requirements. This position serves as a member of a team with shared work responsibilities including, reception duties, office equipment operations, and providing clerical support to direct services staff. The majority of this position is responsible for the operation of the medical records room to include creating and maintaining client medical records following applicable agency, state and federal laws and guidelines. This position is also responsible for data entry of client information in computer databases, responding to requests for client information from other agencies, and archiving records according to agency and state guidelines. Duties may be adjusted in response to staffing patterns and/or to meet the needs of the agency.

Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft office programs, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Working knowledge of any other programs is a plus.

Must have customer service skills and be able to interact and communicate with the public.
Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and organizational skills are essential to this position.
