Role Overview:

Asset allocation is a key area for the firm and for Preqin specifically , Aladdin’s private markets data business . Against this backdrop , the Preqin R esearch I nsights team is looking for a VP, Asset Allocation, to join the team in New York .
The PMR team serves as Preqin’s authoritative voice in the market and comprises more than 15 analysts across alternative asset class es , based in London, New York, Dallas, Singapore and Hong Kong. The team produces research publications that are available to subscribers in the institutional and wealth space through Preqin ’s commercial platform ( Preqin PRO ) and h ave seen strong grow t h over the last few years. The team also presents industry forums and delivers hundreds of strategic BlackRock client engagements each year .
The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of the private markets industry and will be a n excellent communicator in public settings , comfortable discussing industry trends with senior stakeholders across the industry. The ideal candidate would demonstrate strong horizontal leadership skills to connect with teams across the BlackRock ecosystem inter n ally .
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Asset Allocation research: execute the research agenda with the guidance of senior stakeholders to position Preqin as a though t -leader on allocating private markets in the context of the whole portfolio and address some of the key questions posed by LPs and investment committees . This includes helping clients assess the impact of introducing private market asset classes to traditional por tfolios , and how to think about risk and return expectations .
Client and media engagement: represent Preqin at industry events, client roadshows and financial press engagements
Team development: mentor a wider team of researchers that work across private market s , helping to ensure the production of high - quality data driven content that resonates with clients
Stakeholder engagement: build strong relationships across BlackRock teams working on asset allocation topics , across investment, client, Aladdin and corporate functions
Product leadership: provide feedback on the overall research roadmap, grounded in the understanding of market developments and insights that client s need
Required Skills :
Industry experience: 8 + years of experience preferred in private markets or related area s . The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of asset allocation approaches .
Communication: exceptional presentation skills and ability to confidently and succinctly respond to question s
Writing and analytical skills: demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets and crystallize meaningful insights
AI proficiency : h ands-on comfort using AI tools in daily research work (e.g., prompt-based research, synthesis, data exploration – with awareness of AI limitations) and prompt engineering fundamentals (ability to create, test, iterate, and evaluate prompts/workflows to achieve consistent outputs )
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
CFA or CAIA qualification preferred
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and advanced degree preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$162,500.00 - USD$215,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
