TITLE: Career Advisor (Bilingual - English / Spanish) REPORTS TO: Project Director LOCATION: San Luis Obispo County, CA EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time, Exempt Employee Career Team is looking to hire a Career Advisor who will perform professional work providing career counseling, intensive case management, and follow-up services. Work is performed under the supervision of the Project Director. Your Impact on Career TEAM’s Success : Provide information and case management services to the community Assess jobseekers’ employment, abilities, and training needs through interviewing, testing, and other methods Serves as a liaison between workforce development programs and community partners Enter data into and otherwise use and process clients through any participant information system as required Guide career seekers through the preparation of individual employment plans (IEP) based on their specific occupational goals Stay on top of labor market trends and best practices Participate in assigned American Job Center activities Counsel career seekers on available job opportunities, training programs, and other services Refer individuals to appropriate services, training programs, or job opportunities and follow up on those activities Maintain accurate records, case notes, and documentation in required data systems in compliance with program standards Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, job clubs, and other group presentations for career seekers Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations related to eligibility documentation Meet and/or exceed program benchmarks. Participate in all staff-related events as required including but not limited to training, staff meetings, and individual supervision Complete all required reports within the data management system This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. To Qualify for This Role, You Must Have : Bilingual (English / Spanish) - fluent in both verbal and written forms. Associate’s degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience Strong communication skills and knowledge about community resources Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-thought-out decisions Must be computer literate and have MS Word and Excel skills at minimum, and the ability to learn Google Suite as well as specialized databases and software systems Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base with the ability to be culturally sensitive Ability to motivate career seekers towards achieving goals Productive in team environments Strong written and verbal communication skills Maintain symbiotic relationships with partner organizations Ability to meet and exceed set goals and objectives Excellent interpersonal, time management, customer service, organizational skills, and communication skills, both oral and written required Knowledgeable about the WIOA program and other workforce program requirements A demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient in maintaining a high level of confidentiality Exceptional time management skills to meet deadlines and work under pressure A Valid Driver’s License Additional Skills/Knowledge Career TEAM Would Love for This Role : Knowledgeable about San Luis Obispo County and relevant partners and community based resources Salary :  $52,000 - $54,500 Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
