Description of Work As a Health Care Technician I, you will have the rewarding opportunity to enhance the quality of life and maintain the dignity of our residents. Part of caring for our residents is taking them for walks or rides on our beautiful campus, teaching them recreational skills, and supporting them with completing their Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s). Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Salary Range: $35,360.00 - $44,62.00 *A Sign-on bonus of $2,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval. ​ Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. Shift Premiums for 8-Hour Shifts: In addition to our standard work schedules, flexible schedules may be available. Standard Work Schedules Shift Premium: ·          First Shift: (6:45 A – 3:15 P) 5% Weekend ·          Second Shift: (2:45 P – 11:15 P) 20% Weekday & 25% Weekend ·          Third Shift: (10:45 P – 7:15 A) 20% Weekday & 25% Weekend Work schedules include weekend and holiday rotations. Flexibility is required for training and education purposes and to meet the needs of the facility. *Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate. An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if: ·          The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date) ·          The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency ·          DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees. The health and physical status of these residents require 24-hour supervision, daily nursing care, and assistance with activities of daily living.
