The Welding Technician   is responsible for   fabricating, joining, and repairing metal components, equipment, and structures using various welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding. This role performs welds in all positions   in accordance with   specifications and company or customer requirements. The technician applies specialized skills, tools, and techniques to ensure high-quality workmanship while supporting facility operations through minor maintenance activities and   assisting   other trade technicians. The position also involves responding to facility, equipment, and system issues, documenting work accurately in the CMMS, and proactively   identifying   potential failures. The Welding Technician   maintains   a strong commitment to safety, housekeeping, and hazardous waste management, while completing   additional   duties and projects as assigned.   OUR BENEFITS      Joining Oshkosh Aerotech means becoming a valued member of a dynamic team with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision coverage, 401K, and more!     YOUR IMPACT      Fabricates, joins, and/or repairs equipment, fixtures and   various types   of metal objects and structures using MIG, TIG, stick, or other welding processes.   Welds according to specifications and company/customer requirements   Applies specialized skills in procedures, techniques, tools,   materials   and/or equipment in area of expertise   Executes welds in all positions including   from underneath,   to the side, in a variety of shapes and more   Perform minor maintenance duties and   assist   trade technicians in and around airport facilities.   Respond to and correct issues that may exist within the facility, equipment, or systems.   Report issues found that could potentially lead to   additional   system and/or equipment failures.   Inputs   accurate   information into the CMMS.   Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area   Practices good housekeeping in work area   Responsible for understanding and following all Hazardous Waste Management duties and responsibilities   Other projects and responsibilities may be added   at   the company’s discretion.   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS      High school diploma or GED or   equivelant   Technical / vocational / or military training / related experience   Two (2) or more years weld experience with at least one (1) years of experience in general maintenance   Knowledge of welding techniques including MIG, TIG, Stick - aluminum and stainless steel is a plus   Ability to   comprehend   all blueprints and schematics   Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting   Proficient in all key weldments   Ability to use   personal   computer or workstation   Demonstrate ability to use all   appropriate tools , measuring devices, forklifts, cranes, and fixtures   required   Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate personnel assignments within the department   Effectively communicate and solve issues that cross departmental boundaries   PHYSICAL DEMANDS:   While performing the duties, the employee   is regularly required to   stand; walk; use hands and fingers,   handle   or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  The employee must have the ability to use hand trucks, forklifts, tugs, and lift trucks.  Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around   aircrafts   and confined areas. Specific vision abilities required by this job include good   close proximity   vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Good hand / eye coordination is   required .   WORK ENVIRONMENT:   The work environment is   similar to   airport operation with vehicular traffic. The employee   regularly works   near moving mechanical parts.  The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions,   fumes   or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.   Oshkosh is committed to working with and offering reasonable accommodations to job applicants with disabilities.
