Chief Medical Officer - LaGrange

Summary Job Description: Baptist Health La Grange is looking for a Vice President, Chief Medical Officer. This role will be 80% CMO duties and 20% clinical practice. Hospital Medicine or a surgical/medical specialty provided at Baptist Health La Grange is the preferred physician discipline. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) plays a pivotal leadership role in building strong, collaborative relationships across the medical staff, executive team, and hospital leadership. This leader champions a culture of safety and continuous improvement, fostering an environment where every team member is empowered to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care. Through effective communication and partnership with administrative and operational leaders, the CMO helps drive clinical excellence across the organization. As a key member of the Executive Team, the CMO contributes to shaping and advancing strategic priorities that support physicians and the broader organization. This role leads and coordinates physician-focused initiatives, including quality improvement, peer review, clinical effectiveness, and resource stewardship—ensuring the highest standards of care and regulatory compliance. Serving as a trusted ambassador for Baptist Health La Grange, the CMO represents the organization both within the community and across system-wide committees and service lines, strengthening alignment and advancing the mission of delivering outstanding healthcare. Minimum Requirements: Board certified physician with current state license.
