About the opportunity SWCA is looking for an experienced Cincinnati Office Director to launch, lead, and grow our Cincinnati, Ohio office. This is a high visibility leadership opportunity for someone who is energized by building teams, expanding client relationships, and shaping a new office culture. The Office Director will provide strategic, operational, and people leadership for a multidisciplinary team of natural and cultural resource professionals, with responsibility for business growth, financial performance, staff development, technical quality, client satisfaction, and alignment with SWCA’s values. This is a full-time, salaried exempt position, reporting to the Senior Office Director. The role will initially be remote until office space is established. Once the Cincinnati office is in place, the role will transition to a hybrid work arrangement, ideally 3-5 days per week, to support team connection and office engagement. What you will accomplish Champion the office environment by fostering employee engagement, collaboration, and meaningful connections within the office. Lead the establishment of a new office location, including coordinating the setup and operational readiness of the office space. Provide strategic leadership for office growth, operations, and financial performance to lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of scientists, project managers, and technical experts Drive business development, client management, and pursuit strategy in the greater Cincinnati and Midwest markets Monitor and manage office budgets, forecasting, KPIs, and annual business planning Ensure project execution excellence, QA/QC compliance, and safety culture adherence Collaborate with regional and corporate leadership to align office goals with SWCA’s long-term strategy Model and promote SWCA’s core values, employee ownership culture, and commitment to inclusion. Serve as a visible leader with regulatory agencies, clients, and industry partners Support recruitment, retention, and succession planning for the office Serve as an ambassador for SWCA’s Safety Culture and implementation Experience and qualifications for success Bachelor’s degree in an environmental, cultural resources, planning, or related field. Minimum of 12 years of environmental, cultural resources, or related consulting experience. At least 5 years of progressively responsible leadership experience. Demonstrated success in business development and client management Strong understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Proven ability to lead teams, manage financial performance, and drive operational growth. Excellent communication, relationship building, and leadership skills. Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
