Shape the Future of Respiratory Care Cabarrus College is seeking a dedicated Director of Clinical Education (DCE) for CoARC purposes to lead and oversee clinical learning experiences for the Respiratory Therapy Program. This faculty role serves as the vital link between classroom instruction and clinical practice, ensuring students receive exceptional hands-on training while maintaining compliance with CoARC accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Education Leadership Develop and maintain partnerships with clinical affiliates.
Coordinate student clinical placements and schedules.
Conduct site visits to ensure quality learning environments.
Collaborate with clinical educators and provide preceptor training.
Support compliance with accreditation and clinical education standards.
Teaching & Student Success Teach in classroom, lab, clinical, and/or online settings.
Foster engaging, student-centered learning experiences.
Evaluate student performance and provide coaching and remediation.
Develop laboratory competencies and clinical learning activities.
Mentor students and support career readiness.
Curriculum & Program Development Review and update course materials and learning outcomes.
Integrate current respiratory care practices, research, and accreditation standards.
Participate in program assessment and continuous improvement initiatives.
Professional Service Contribute to college committees, advising, and departmental initiatives.
Engage in professional development and scholarly activities.
Serve as a positive role model while promoting diversity, teamwork, and integrity.
Qualifications Required RRT credential
Current North Carolina Respiratory Care License (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
Master's degree from an accredited institution OR bachelor's degree with commitment to complete a master's degree within 2 years
Minimum 4 years of respiratory therapy experience , including at least 2 years in clinical practice
Minimum 2 years of teaching or clinical preceptor experience in an accredited respiratory care program
Preferred Online teaching experience
Experience across specialty areas including critical care, diagnostics, rehabilitation, and acute care
