The role also includes functioning as a community resource on topics within scope of practice and providing nursing orientation, education, and ongoing competency verification. Job Description:
The clinical nurse educator (CNE) functions to ensure that clinicians are prepared to be responsible for promoting patient safety and high quality patient care through clinical leadership, education, consultation, modeling, and research.

Requirements:
Current RN license or work permit in Kentucky.
Three (3) years of acute care experience in the designated specialty within the last five (5) years
BSN from accredited nursing program
Certification as Professional Development Specialist (PDS) preferred
Basic Life Support certification.
ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNCC/ENPC certifications as required by department of assignment.
