Through innovative clinical research and groundbreaking discoveries, SLU researchers are advancing treatments that improve patient outcomes and shape the future of healthcare.   The Department of Neurology is seeking a   Clinical Research   Nurse I   to support a rapidly growing portfolio of   stroke clinical trials . This position offers a unique opportunity to serve as the lead coordinator for ongoing and upcoming stroke research studies involving investigational drugs, medical devices, and standard-of-care interventions.   As stroke research continues to expand at SLU, this role will be instrumental in bringing new treatment options to patients while contributing to life-changing discoveries in one of the most dynamic areas of neurological medicine.   The Clinical Research Nurse will balance direct patient care responsibilities with research coordination and regulatory activities.   The role includes   project management,   participant screening and enrollment, nursing assessments, study intervention administration, data collection, regulatory support, and coordination with interdisciplinary clinical and research teams.   This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced research professionals and clinical experts while playing a vital role in advancing stroke care and neurological research.   Why Join Saint Louis University?   Benefits include:   Monday-Friday schedule , ( 40 hours /week)   15 vacation days ,   13 sick day s,   10+ paid holidays each year   Tuition remission for employees and eligible dependents   Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and retirement benefits   Collaborative environment with opportunities for professional growth and development   Saint Louis University offers the opportunity to combine patient care with scientific advancement while enjoying a strong work-life balance and exceptional benefits.   While the primary schedule is Monday-Friday,   occasional   weekend,   early morning, evening, or off-hour visits may be   required   to support   study enrollment,   research procedures, participant care, or laboratory processing.   Key Responsibilities   Screen, recruit, consent, enroll, and   retain   research participants according to study protocols   for stroke research studies.   Conduct neurological and nursing assessments of research patients.   Administer and   monitor   investigational therapies and study-related interventions as   permitted   by protocol.   Coordinate and manage study visits, procedures, testing, and follow-up activities.   Review medical records and collect relevant clinical data for research studies.   Document study activities, participant interactions, and protocol-related procedures in electronic systems and source documentation.   Ensure   accurate   and   timely   entry of study data into clinical trial management systems and sponsor databases.   Collaborate with investigators, research coordinators, sponsors, and clinical partners to   maintain   protocol compliance.   Monitor,   identify , document, and report adverse events and protocol deviations.   Support regulatory submissions, study audits, monitoring visits, and compliance activities.   Maintain participant confidentiality and ensure the integrity and security of research data.   Apply institutional, federal, and regulatory requirements governing human   subjects'   research.   Work closely with neurologists, research staff, ICU teams, Emergency Department staff, angiography teams, and other clinical partners.   Partner with an established and supportive stroke research team, including experienced research leadership, physician investigators, advanced practice providers, and research support staff.   Contribute to the continued growth and expansion of the Department of Neurology's clinical research program.   Perform   additional   duties as assigned.   Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities   Knowledge of clinical nursing practices and patient care standards.   Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills.   Ability to manage multiple studies and competing priorities in a fast-paced research environment.   Excellent verbal and written communication skills.   Strong attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance.   Proficiency   with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR), Microsoft Office, and clinical research software systems.   Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.   Ability to travel to off-site clinical or research locations as needed.   Minimum Qualifications   Registered Nurse (RN) with current Missouri nursing license or eligibility for Missouri licensure.   Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.   Three (3) years of professional nursing experience.   Proficiency   with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office applications.   Preferred Qualifications   Clinical   research   experience    Neurology, neuroscience, stroke, emergency medicine, critical care, ICU, intermediate care, or acute care nursing experience.   Familiarity with neurological assessments and stroke evaluations.   Experience working in fast-paced clinical environments such as:    Critical Care Units (ICU)   Emergency Departments (ED)   Neurology Units   Interventional/Angiography Suites   Apply today to join a mission-driven team   to improve   lives through research.   Function Clinical Research Schedule
