The Compensation Specialist supports the administration of Damar’s compensation programs and processes. This position maintains salary structures, pay grades, compensation records, and market data while helping ensure compensation decisions are consistent, equitable, competitive, and aligned with Damar’s compensation philosophy. The Compensation Specialist works closely with the Director of Benefits & Compensation to support salary recommendations, annual compensation processes, internal equity reviews, compensation reporting, and other compensation-related initiatives.

Administers compensation programs, processes, and related activities
Maintains salary structures, pay grades, job levels, and compensation records
Conducts market pricing for new and existing positions using approved compensation surveys and market data
Participates in compensation surveys and maintains current market compensation information
Prepares compensation analyses and recommendations for review by the Director of Benefits & Compensation
Reviews compensation data to help identify internal equity, pay compression, and other compensation concerns
Supports compensation decisions related to new hires, promotions, transfers, reclassifications, and other employee pay changes
Partners with Talent Acquisition to support the development of appropriate and consistent pay recommendations
Supports the administration of annual merit increases and other organization-wide compensation processes
Maintains accurate compensation-related position data and position control records
Reviews new and revised job descriptions and supports the evaluation and classification of positions within Damar's job architecture
Assigns approved pay grades, job levels, and other compensation attributes to positions
Prepares recurring and ad hoc compensation reports for HR and organizational leadership
Analyzes compensation data and identifies trends to support organizational decision-making
Provides support for broader Total Rewards initiatives, including benefits administration and related projects, as needed
What you need to be considered:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources, compensation, payroll, accounting, finance, data analysis, or related analytical work, with direct compensation experience required. 5+ years of relevant experience preferred
Experience working with HRIS systems and compensation data preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
Minimum age of 18 per licensure requirement
Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving
Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening
