Job Description Summary Department - Detainee & Crisis Systems Job Description OPEN UNTIL   FILLED Job Type: Classified Job Classification: 5520 - Correctional Health Coordinator Salary Grade:  11 Pay Range Hiring Range: $56,555 - $67,870 Annually  Pay Range: $56,555 - $79,164 Annually  Range Explanation: Hiring Range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity. Pay Range is the entire compensation range for the position. The first review of applications will be on 07/31/2026 . The Correctional Health Coordinator provides quality assurance and oversight of the health resources provided by statute and law to detainees at the Country’s detention facilities including, but not limited to medical, dental, and behavioral services. Essential Functions:     As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, this classification may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. Work assignments may vary depending on the department’s need and will be communicated to the applicant or incumbent by the supervisor. Monitors vendor compliance with business requirements, conducts audits of performance indicators and mortality reviews in the event of patients’ death, and serious adverse events including, but not limited to suicide attempts and sexual assault; Remains up to date with local, state, and federal guidelines and statutes, and ensures compliance by areas of specialty care, including but not limited to infection prevention, radiology, dentistry, and mental health; Facilitates and supports the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) evaluation services and accreditation surveys, and maintains current certification from the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (CCHP) to ensure compliance with NCCHC standards for correctional health services; Monitors and identifies trends in detainees’ health statistics, hospital send-outs, and admissions; Introduces amendments to County-owned electronic health records, and assists in the compilation of bespoke reports that meet the County’s objectives; Liaises between the Sheriff's department/custody leadership, health department, and accrediting body (NCCHC); Assists with clearance requests for temporary access to the facility by out-of-state vendors and consultants, escorts visitors through the facility, and provides information about the range of medical services, such as the pharmacy, and medical, dental, and mental health units; Assists in the compilation of Request for Proposal (RFP) documents, contracts, and contract amendments; Assists and oversees transitions of correctional healthcare vendors; Assists with the procurement and replacement of medical equipment when necessary. Minimum Qualifications:    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a medical or behavioral health related field AND two years of professional level experience in coordinating, monitoring, administrating or managing program or specialized work activities. (Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.) OR: Two years of experience with Pima County in a professional administrative classification. Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the "Education" and "Work Experience" sections of the application. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies, specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):  Experience with case management and/or care coordination. Experience with/knowledge of community resource networks. Experience with/knowledge of working with justice-involved populations, behavioral health clients, substance use disorder populations, or other underserved populations. Experience building and maintaining collaborative relationships between the department and external entities, such as community agencies, probation, health plans, and other relevant organizations. Selection Proce dure :   Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources.   Additional   assessments/testing may be   required   as part of the selection process .          Supplemental Information:   Licenses and Certificates :  Valid driver license is   required   at time of application.  Valid  AZ  driver license is   required   at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to   determine   applicant’s suitability to   operate   county vehicles   in accordance with   Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and   maintain   the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination.
