Our top direct client is looking for a Database Consultant
The client is a Fortune 50 multi-billion dollar revenue generating organization with a spectrum of products and services throughout major operating businesses
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure performance, scalability, security, and availability of MySQL databases.
Prepare documentation, best practices, and specifications.
Work as an expert on MySQL implementation and design
Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary
Provide guidance and expertise on tuning MySQL implementation
Help engineering teams migrate from Oracle to MySQL.
Tools/skills:
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git / SVN
E/R Diagramming tools
MySQL Workbench
Must Have Skills:
Proficiency in MySQL database management, minimum 5 years.
Experience with recent versions of MySQL
Understanding of MySQL’s underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and RocksDB
Experience with replication configuration in MySQL
Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL
Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
Knowledge of MySQL features, such as its event scheduler
Experience on architecting and designing MySQL databases
Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases
