About your role
Support the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the bank’s AML/CFT framework (in particular, AML Act, § 25h KWG)
Act as deputy to the MLRO and represent the function internally and externally when required
Monitor compliance with applicable AML/CFT laws, regulations, and supervisory requirements
Review and assess suspicious activity reports (SARs) and support decision-making on regulatory filings
Oversee customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and ongoing monitoring processes
Advise business units on AML/CFT-related matters, including high-risk customers, products, and transactions
Support the assessment and mitigation of money laundering and terrorist financing risks
Contribute to AML risk assessments, policies, procedures, and internal controls
Coordinate with Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, and relevant control functions
Support regulatory audits, inspections, and interactions with supervisory authorities
Contribute to AML/CFT training and awareness programs across the bank
Involvement in the new product process
Submit suspicious activity reports to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) as well as filing criminal charges
Point of contact and coordinator for internal and external auditors regarding their audit areas related to money laundering, terrorist financing, and criminal activities
Regular and situation-related reporting, particularly to the responsible member of the management board and if applicable to the statutory supervisory body of the management.
About you
You are a suitable candidate for the role if you have/are:
Several years of professional experience in AML/CFT, Compliance, or Financial Crime within a banking or financial services environment
Sound knowledge of AML/CFT regulations and supervisory expectations
Experience in setting up monitoring systems
Experience in reviewing suspicious transactions and SARs is an advantage
Strong analytical skills and a high level of integrity and discretion
Structured, independent, and risk-aware working style
Fluent in German and good English skills
