Job Description: Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer / Architect to replace a senior, key technical contributor who played a critical role in our cloud-native platform. This position requires a hands-on engineer with architectural thinking , capable of owning design, development, deployment, and operational excellence across AWS-based systems. The ideal candidate is a self-directed problem solver with strong Java cloud development experience , deep AWS knowledge, and proven ability to design, build, and support scalable, secure, production-grade systems with minimal oversight. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain  cloud-native Java applications  using  Java 21+  and AWS-managed services. Architect and implement solutions leveraging  AWS services  such as  SQS, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Cognito , and related integrations. Build and deploy microservices using  Spring Boot 3 and/or Quarkus 3  in AWS environments. Design, develop, and document  RESTful APIs  with a focus on performance, security, and scalability. Build, optimize, and manage  container images  and deploy applications to  EKS / Kubernetes . Own and support  CI/CD pipelines , release automation, and infrastructure reliability. Monitor, log, and troubleshoot applications using  ELK stack ,  CloudWatch , and related observability tooling. Collaborate with application, security, and infrastructure teams to perform  technical analysis , root cause investigations, and system improvements. Serve as a technical leader who can evaluate tradeoffs, propose solutions, and drive decisions independently. Maintain high standards for code quality, security, and operational resilience. Must-Have Qualifications Strong  Java 21+ development experience  in cloud-native architectures. Hands-on experience with AWS services including: SQS, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Cognito CloudWatch, ECR, IAM Proven development experience using  Spring Boot 3 and/or Quarkus 3  in cloud environments. Solid experience with  ELK stack  (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana). Strong experience building and deploying  containerized applications  in  EKS / Kubernetes . Demonstrated ability to perform  deep technical analysis  and troubleshoot complex distributed systems. Ability to  learn new technologies quickly  and adapt to evolving requirements. Strong  communication skills , both written and verbal. Ability to work  independently with minimal guidance , owning problems end-to-end. Nice-to-Have Skills Experience using  Apache Camel 3  for integration and routing. Building and maintaining  Tekton-based CI/CD pipelines . Infrastructure-as-code experience using  Terraform .   Ruby scripting  experience. Python scripting  experience. Monitoring and metrics experience with  Grafana and Prometheus .
